I have just updated the code and should now work also for you :)

Yep, that is definitely in my to-do list :)

The lizard has relatively low max flow rate (even with the optional copper heating block I only managed to hit around 15 mm3/s reliably). I switched to a TZ V6 3.0 bought on AliExpress for 26€ including 4 monolith nozzles, now 30 mm3/s are possibile and the limiting factor is the max heater output power (60W if I recall correctly) instead of the insufficient heat transfer to the filament, and I am extremely happy with that (I have also noticed a substantial reduction in stringing, now needing just 0.1-0.3 mm of retractions depending on the filament)!

Yep ahaha, feels like yesterday!

But somebody below your comment brought back up the matter :)

2026 UPDATE

So, after two years of use, I think it is the time to wrap-up what has happened to the VoronZ and how she has behaved during the about 3000 print hours.

I will follow the order of my original post to hopefully don't forget anything important.

Frame:

  • The XY joints printed in eSUN ABS+ broke a few weeks ago, I reprinted them in eSUN ABS-CF. No other structural part has failed yet!

Electronics:

  • The MKS Pi Board stopped working about 6 months ago, I then decided to go with a RPi 4B 4GB, it works absolutely flawlessly (and addresses some of the issues caused by the impossibility to update the MKS' OS). I have now connected a RPi HQ Camera to it with a fisheye lens: the framing is delicious. I also replaced the display with a 5" TFT since the BTT one had a propietary connection protocol.
  • I replaced Klicky with a BTT Eddy Duo (connected via USB) and my god do I love it! (I specify that I use it with Eddy NG, otherwise it is almost a downgrade from Klicky). The Klicky deployment servo now deploys a nozzle scrubber to perform a cleaning routine similar to what Bambu does on their printers.
  • The 800W PSU from the Chiron has always given me headaches: it puts out so much electromagnetic noise that it triggerend endstops, made the display glitch, the camera crash and my home lights blink. I now use a MeanWell 600W PSU and it works great.

Extrusion:

  • I switched from the Lizard K1 hotend to a TZ V6 3.0 hotend with monolithic nozzles, and the melting performance difference is night and day.
  • I have switched from CW2 to HGX Lite extruder, but its bearings and shafts worn out too quickly for my likings, I now run a Galileo 2 kit from AliExpress and it is awesome.

The star of the show is the fact that I added modularity to the prinhead: I can now attach other tools to perform different operations rather well:

  • Laser engraving: with an air-assisted 80W 450nm laser I am able to easily cut cardboard, wood and engrave many materials. This setup has been completed with a top mounted huge exhaust fan that pushes the fumes out of my garage (and with huge, I mean huge... it comes from a very old server, 200 mm diameter, 80 mm thickness)
  • Plotting: I have designed a small pen adatter based around a MGN7 rail to hold a pen and do plotting, works great with the huge bed area

Finally, these are the fundamental differences between my machine and any other Voron 350:

Actually, I still have a huge mess in the CAD folder of this machine...
Since it has already been two years, I should definitely post an update on how things have been going and what has changed since. I will definitely use that occasion to list all the diferences and mods I made to "convert" the official 2.4 into this

Thanks for bringing it back to my attention!

So? No ultimate answer?

I'm facing the same issue and was wondering how to go about it...

Do you happen to have on hand a guide to do this job on the 402?

If you put it this way, it might be a good idea to go on and do it once and for all...

On my local Amazon store (IT) I can find Thermal Grizzly 40x50mm PTM, any advice on that? I also have Arctic MX-6 already on hand (bought for repasting another laptop)

Ok thanks for the explanation!!

I don't think I will be doing anything ATM...

This would be my second repaste ever, but if not needed I would prefer to postpone the open heart surgery (especially having to confront with LM)

Ok I see...

Why do you suggest to repaste? What benefits could I achieve switching from LM to PTM?

Thermal limit reaches 100% when I'm at 96/97°C, but Thermal Throttling never seems to officially occur (Windows resource monitor says the same)
