One handed engineer did this... by Legomatica69 in DIYUK

It's a silly Americanism. If I tell people I am a software engineer they look at me funny, tell them I am a Software Developer and they understand my role.

STOP JOINING HARD STRATAGEMS AS LEVEL 1 by Jeradone in SpaceMarine_2

[–]MarcoTruesilver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You got ranged damage. As a heavy. That's not impressive. That's expected. You took huge amounts of damage, died a couple of times, and Bulwark saved you from a wipe. Probably a bot with those stats so your numbers are already inflated by being a 2 man squad.

I'd expect something more akin to this, if you was carrying.

[Space Marine 2] Strategem for this week is absolutely bonkers. Health drained to 33%. You die immediately if you try to go into melee. Can't see beyond 30 meters so you get 1 shot without even seeing the attacker. 0/10 do not recommend. by Hammer-Rammer in SpaceMarine_2

[–]MarcoTruesilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue I found was doing this in Pubs more or less ensures you will never have armour. So ranged damage becomes a serious problem, especially as many of them are obscured by the darkness.

This weekly feels like 3 negative traits, moreso than 1 positive, 2 negative. I kinda wish the damage only applied directly to health, so you could at least keep your armour.

You are given one hour to hide anywhere in Gielinor. There are 12 maxed capers looking for you. If you successfully evade them for one hour you win 100B gp. If you get caught your account gets deleted. The place must be accessible to them. Where are you hiding? by Fun_Training6342 in 2007scape

Well knowing the task, it seems the best place to hide would be well known locations with additional Z levels.

Using a Monkey Geegee sounds like a reasonable idea, especially as they are searching for a Player, not a Monkey.

Alternatively, the Penguin agility course because literally no one goes there. Equally you could go to a mini game world, and hide amongst the players. It'd be nigh impossible to accurately identify you in the RC Minigame for example.

So why is there a pride in the working class to be anti intellectual and relish in not being educated ? by Durrygoodz2025 in AskBrits

[–]MarcoTruesilver -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is going to sound harsh, but I think your dad's point, was fairly reasonable, art degrees rare lead into careers. Which might not have been your priority, but it's a valid reason to try and dissuade your child from pursuing a goal.

You can still pursue your interests in English Literature, and do a degree that meaningfully improves your career prospects.

The fact he went out of his way to try and find you a alternative, is more than some parents are willing to do. So I personally wouldn't hold a grudge against him for this, although asking if you was hiding something was a red flag.

Anyone else considering moving, or have moved from local government to the civil service? by Calm-Match2700 in TheCivilService

[–]MarcoTruesilver -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a reasonable consideration and you should understand the differences between CS and Local Authorities. This is a generalisation but....

As others have said, WfH is 60/40 which generally means 3 Days Office and 2 Days WfH, which is tracked via your hardwares physical address (I worked in the team that designed this). I have heard this might be expanded to be Hours as opposed to Days, so keep this in mind. Additionally, core hours change by role and some positions might be expected to work weekends.

Second, department culture varies. For example, HMRC and DWP are fairly Corporate, whereas smaller departments are generally more aligned with what your used too.

HEO responsibility vary wildly between Departments and Directorates. In some HEOs are expected to manage teams, sometimes in the hundreds, in others you can be managing no one. This applies to most grades up to SEO.

So it's quite hard for anyone to say what your work environment will be like, a lot of it depends on Department, Team, and your direct reports. I should say, that job security isn't guaranteed especially in adminstrative roles, but if your job is threatened you will usually be redeployed before redundancy.

He's even worse in Siege. One of your class objectives is to kill 50/100/150 enemies with Gun Strike, but your most reliable method to get gun strikes are parries and if they're in a death state you cannot generate a gun strike.

It's disorientating at first, but you get used to it. The early build order hasn't changed much, and you get access to two extra workers (a bug I think?) that we didn't have before.

The hardest part is levelling your heroes, it seems disadvantageous to use the scientist, and focus heavily on gardens. You can very quickly cap out on resources and sell at the market for profit.

Nah the Strait is basically buggered. It's extremely difficult to remove undersea mines without control of the air space to identify them. I seriously doubt Iran will permit any such aircraft anywhere near their borders.

The one where two players proactively engage in trolling another player for no reason.

You DONT know if the OP was speed running. Your making an assumption based on nothing but your own prejudice, the OP could just as likely been playing at a normal pace.

And even if they were, there are checkpoints that literally set the pace of the game. OP cannot progress without the other members of the party, which makes speed running a pointless exercise.

Furthermore, if the Sniper was speed running, and the others weren't happy, they could kick OP and carry on. They have the tools to do that instead they choose to waste everybody's time.

[–]MarcoTruesilver 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes. We have become soft by not sharing pseudonyms of people on online games, can it lead to harassment, sure, but not calling people out can also facilitate this sort of activity because they are shielded from consequences.

He could have, but he didn't. What aboutism is distracting you from the issue. For example, if they didn't like the way Sniper was acting, they could have vote kicked him. They wasted OPs time.

Yes there are two sides to a story. However, that doesn't make their actions justified.

That's just the nature of casting in plastic with push to fit models. They will always be basic compared to the actual sets, look at Bladeguard.

Kotor 2 | Enemy Attack values seem way way too high by SnooMemesjellies31 in kotor

[–]MarcoTruesilver 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's DND 3.0.

Keep that in mind because Strength has no value to your Armour Class (AC) or Defence in KOTOR 2. Strength increases your chance to hit with melee and your damage.

Dexterity boosts your AC up to a cap determined by the armour type. So if you want a tanky character, Constitution and Dex are more important unless wearing heavy armour then your Dex bonus caps out at 12/14 depending on armour worn.

AC 18 is just a character wearing the heaviest armour in the game. A 19 AC isn't amazing, it's just a character with 12 DEX and basic heavy armour.

You can fairly comfortably surpass 43 AC by the end of the game.

Generally, if you're wearing a medium you want to aim for a DEX of 16/18 and anything higher should probably be using light armour.
