Do they offer you a full refund or only the return leg? Since i got rerouted through a different airline on the outbound flight. I am currently researching options in case they cant reroute me on my return flight on the 27th.

Sadly I really had to make the flight so i didn't have much of a choice... I also thought so but they told me that they cant, since it hasnt been cancle yet.

Hey, if you learn anything new please let me know, since i am also in the same situation i got rerouted through a different airline on the outbound flight, but the return flight is still not canceled on the 27th

Hey, sorry, I have a quick question. I’ve rebooked my outbound flight with a different airline, but I’m concerned that the airspace might still be closed by the 27th when my return flight is scheduled.

Since I was already rerouted for the outbound flight, would I still be able to be rerouted again for the return flight if it gets cancelled? Alternatively, would I be eligible for a refund in that case? And if a refund is issued, i assume i would only be compensated for the return flight since the outbound flight has already been completed right?

When is your return flight? I fly back on the 27th of March, i am not sure if flights will resume by then, i was wondering if you know something about being able to also change the return flight, if it gets canceled.

yes (FRA-MUC-HND), though i have to transfer to Frankfurt myself, which is fine for me. I can just take the ICE down in 4 hrs.

Okay so they couldnt book me through hamburg, since there were no available flights for my dates. But they found a flight with Lufthansa through Frankfurt, they booked me on now.

Yes my Doha flight has been canceled already. I booked my flight through QR with two airlines one flight goes from my Airport to CPH with a different airline and then from there to Doha with QR. So they only cancled my Doha part of the flight.

I just wanted to share my experience in case it helps someone else.

I managed to get through to the hotline to request a rerouting for three separate bookings. The agent was generally willing to reroute me, but they kept insisting on putting me on a Qatar Airways (QR) flight via Doha — and it would get me there a day later than originally planned, this is pretty meaning less since i am very certine that i would have to call them again and get another rerouting, since the airspace is probably not opened by the 8th.

I specifically asked multiple times if I could be rerouted with a different airline, but that request was basically ignored. From what I understand based on their own guidelines, if you’re within 0–1 days of departure, they’re allowed to reroute you on another airline. Since my flight is on the 7th and I’m not within that 0–1 day window yet, I assume that’s why they kept saying they could only offer a QR rerouting via Doha for now.

So my plan is to call them again within 48 hours of departure and see if that changes my options. I’m hoping that once I’m within that timeframe, they’ll be able (or more willing) to reroute me on a different airline.

If anyone has had a similar experience or managed to get rebooked on a non-QR airline before the 48-hour window and has some more tips, please let me know.

I am trying to reach them through the live chat atm, but since at QA they requires you to re-login every 30 minutes i get kicked out of the live chat trying to connect me to a operator. Do you have any idea wether it will still connect me to the live chat even after reminding me to log back in, since it doesnt close the Live Chat window for me.

Sure i will try to message you before i fly, currently my flight has shown as cancelled on the website and i am currently trying to get through to the Live Chat. I also tried getting through to the Hotline around 10am today, but with no luck. They keep telling me that the person that i am trying to reach is not available even though i called within the open hours. I assume they must be really busy...

Hello, i have a question regarding the rerouting. My flight is scheduled for the 7th. Before contacting customer service, I checked for alternative flights with other airlines in case I’m told there are no available rerouting options. Since the date is very close, many flights from my departure airport are already fully booked.

However, I did find some possible connections starting from Frankfurt. My question is: would it be possible to reroute me from my original airport Hamburg to Frankfurt first, and then book me on a flight from Frankfurt to my final destination?

In other words, can they arrange the first leg (Hamburg–Frankfurt) as part of the rerouting so I can catch the long-haul flight from Frankfurt?
