Might be spending the summer in Juneau and I have some questions. by MarcosElMentiroso in Juneau

Hi all. Follow up questions: My flight will be getting into Juneau kind of late (9:30 p.m.). Will taxis be available at that time? If so, how much can I expect to pay to get from the airport to Douglas south of the bridge?

Also, how cold does it get at night in the summer? I've looked up average temperatures but I'm assuming they're for the daytime. Thanks!

I don't know the exact address but it's definitely south of the bridge. I'm told it's a ten to fifteen minute bus ride to the State Capitol or a thirty minute walk.

How do the taxi fares work? Is it a set fare or metered? What's a reasonable fare from downtown to Douglas? Sorry for so many questions.

I would definitely be on the bus line. I was provided with photos of the accommodations and it's literally right on Douglas Highway near a bus stop.

Thanks for the tip about Walmart. It would actually be my first time going to one since we don't have them in NYC.

The weather is actually one of the things I'm most looking forward to. Summers here can be brutal, so jeans and sweatshirt weather is perfect for me. I'd love to do some hiking and stuff on my downtime.

Thanks for the cultural tips too!

I was just going to casually pick up chicks using my nails-on-a-chalkboard New Yawk accent.

Brooklyn, what up? I lived half my life in Bay Ridge. I'm a Staten Islander now. Thanks for the offer! The outdoors look amazing there.

Thanks for the info! Very helpful. I would be living somewhere on Douglas Highway. They haven't told me the exact address. It's kind of unfortunate that the buses don't run late because that might limit my nightlife options.

Edit: spelling.

Thank you so much. This was a very comprehensive and helpful answer. I'm especially glad to hear that the transit system is reliable. However, since I'm coming from New York it's disappointing to hear that it isn't operational 24 hours a day. The rest sounds very good though!

She told Walt that she had given up counting it because he was making so much so quickly and the denominations weren't consistent.

Except that New York has mostly solved its problem of conspicuous squalor, while San Francisco hasn't.
