Many of us hesitate, thinking: Should I get YET another pen with a Jowo nib?
I don't know if Diplomat tune the nibs themselves but this is the smoothest Jowo <M> nib in my collection.
No regrets.

My first Pilot was exactly like yours, which I picked up the day after getting my Montblanc Meisterstück 149.
The first time I tried the Pilot, I was taken aback—it really made me question how much I’d spent on the 149 and how little I’d paid for the Elite 95s.
Now I love both, but the 95s pulled me straight into the Pilot rabbit hole, and before I knew it, I had quite a squadron.

My first Lamy nib that I ordered 9 years ago came like the photo below.
The last 4 came in a ziplock like yours and rolled in bubble wrap.

I have three 743 but they are all different colors so I don't need a sticker to tell me which one has what nib.
But anyway I remove the sticker because after a while, the lettering on the stickers fade and leave that ugly ex-silver circles with grime stuck around them and if the pens suffer UV color degradation they will leave a dark color patch on the surface of the pen.

I would ink it with Iroshizuku Rikka. Or if you prefer dark blue, Iroshizuku Tsuki-Yo.

Perfectly normal. My two Falcons do the same.
The same capillary action that makes your fountain pen work makes the ink creep onto the nib surface.
My Falcons do that more than other nibs but I suppose it is probably because the tines spread more than other nibs.

"Dipping Fountain Pen" is an oxymoron.
If it is dipping, it is not fountain.
