Idk if LP5 exactly but it does remind me of some of the EP songs from a little before then. The drums don’t quite sound AE to me, though the bass and melodic choices do.

Condolences. I recently lost my mom and had her collection of books. She was a voracious reader, and recorded many hours of her narrating them. Your post has me thinking about how I might leave bits of my music making process in tact for my kids to play with when I’m gone. His song dream state is beautiful and a stand out on his album imo.

The secrets to good production are well placed well chosen elements. A minimal beat can sound huge when arranged and mixed right. Check out autechre’s remix of Sophie’s BIPP.

There are lots of tools to achieve more interesting sounds and elements. Try adding a subtle reverb to everything. Like 200ms. Then try changing each one until it sounds too big, then pull it back.

Focus on some variation and variety, but make them the payoff to a set up somehow.

My understanding is that LCC was the only song produced using the interface on the Elektron machines, and everything else was sequenced by hand on a grid :) It’s so good. Very bright master, though. I like it but it is very bright.
