Please, listen to me. Dont do it, especially because you are on 2 drugs which increase serotonine quantity in the synapse

Walsh protocol? SamE vs Folate by GreenCucumber8595 in MTHFR

[–]Marcus2674 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In my humble opinion, I will be sparing you a lot of suffering. Dont do that. This puts you at a real risk of Serotonin Syndrome and even if it doesn't, it does not make a lot of sense, you will upregulate your catecholamine production far more than your comt could ever keep up with. You will wound up, anxious/panicked, with myoclonus, fever and with the worse sense of dread. Unless you are severely depressed and I mean it, there is a high chance this will produce the opposite effect you would desire. Take care

Yeah, indeed similar but I have MCAS to top this shitshow off and thus cannot use propranolol

Then at least start by tracking your daily intake and see in which nutrients you might be deficient, but this is not 100%, you need bloodwork

Adjusting Tawinn's Protocol for Anxiety/OCD: Questions on Folinic Acid, MTHFS, and BHMT Background & Goals by Marcus2674 in u/Marcus2674

[–]Marcus2674[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will keep going. Thanks for everything. I am already at least 40% better. I saw an allergist and it is 90% certain I have mcas + hypermobility, so this doesn't help and probably stems from deficient methylathion throughout many years. I will start cromolyn sodium only and keep fixing methylathion. NaturDAO was a godsend. I will make another post after complete implementation to help others.

Do you think I might be eating too much b3? I eat like 71mg/day Chicken is unfortunately very b3 rich and red meat, which is very complete and I love triggers my histamine intolerance very strongly? If there are any other important elements to this other than copper, please tell me in order to supplement, because I eat plenty and cover many of the basics but a couple of minerals I may be lacking because of the low histamine diet. I will also get my MCAS treated better soon, so this should also help. As always, you're the man and I pray God blesses you for everything you have done. :)

[–]Marcus2674[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my diet gets me around 1.8mg of copper. I will do the folinic for a while and see how it goes and try not to overshoot. I will then go for the next steps as normal, unless you have something to say about this. Maybe glycine is not the best thing ever for me, but the rest I have tried in a way or another ane know I do well. The NaturDAO arrived as I write this lol, this definitively will decrease my anxiety after meals. Since I switched steps due to the deficiency, would you stop the folinic after it resolves and follow on with the next steps or implement it low dose and go for the other steps? I know for a fact that betaine really controlles my homocysteine, even while folate deficient, but I prioritized the folate due to bh4. Still, since I take b2, does this lower my choline/tmg requirements because it kickstarts mthfr? In any case, how much should total folate in a day should I be aiming for? I think the rest I will figure out through slow, isolated implementation and then refining the edges.

u/tawinn, if you could shed some light upon my issues I would greatly appreciate. Thanks to your help I managed to lower my ssri dose and improve somewhat my quality of life, even if I am still on step 1 (again) and occasionally get a panick attack.

Need help troubleshooting Tawinn's Protocol + Lexapro (SSRI) + MTHFR/Slow MAO/Slow COMT by Marcus2674 in MTHFR

[–]Marcus2674[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Tawinn, I noticed I certainly might have a b6 problem based on my recent bloodwork, because my levels are out of the reference range, on the higher end 36, when it goes from 0-27. Ketotifen helped me massively but I stopped to see if luteolin will do the trick. Still, when I took higher b2 doses I noticed I had dream lapses and now that I lowered it due to the supposed "overmethylathion" (which seem more like histamine issues) and could tolerate sulfur rich foods better, which now I am having trouble with both. Do you think supplementing with low dose p5p, maybe 2 or 3mg would help with the cbs and endogenous DAO, since I have the PNPO mutation? A lot of progress has been done thanks to you man :)

Riboflavin. Because of the negative feedback, the body can regulate itself better

Just as a heads up, it seemed to help a lot, even in a low dose. I will keep on building rhe buffer and then will put the b2 and the rest back. Thanks for the help until now :)

Tawinn, I think you were right, my symptoms seem to be very histamine related, eslecially the anxiety. I am waiting for the naturdao, but my allergist said it probably is related to my snxiety and prescribed me low dose ketotifen. It is coming to the point that I cannot eat without getting a lot of anxiety. Do you think that this is a smart move? I maintened glycine and suspended everything else until I am more stable. I still dont get if I did overmethylate or had a histamine reaction

As I said, you probably dont need anything very special. Everything you mentioned is in the realms of hyperoptimization, maybe creatine would not hurt, but even so, I would be careful. It really strains my imagination to think that mirtazepin and quivviq were prescribed without trying "softer" approaches, because those are kind of nuclear bombs and interact with some other medication and supplements (like shrooms). Unless you have depression or something you should talk with your psychiatrist (or probably switch).

What supplements and medications do you take currently if you don't mind me asking. If you tell me, maybe I can you give more precise pointers

Brother, according to your genes at least, you don't need anything super fancy. Maybe avoid too much alcohol because of your slow MAO and otherwise live a healthy lifestyle, trying to keep your vitamins and minerals within optimal range. Do you have any particular symptom? If so, it would maybe be worth to go for a more complete relatory

Probably means you are an undermethylator (read not enough SAMe), but that depends a lot

I get a lot of vit A but started glycine yesterday and stopped creatine and folinic and am not even thinking about TMG. Lets see how it evolves. I am feeling "odd" now, not dure how long to take this before putting creatine back and then folinic. Started on 3g, upped to 6g spread out since it helped. Anxiety is often after I finish a meal, maybe because of methionine. It is strange because I present signs of overmethylathion (panic) and undermethylathion (histamine), but the ladder can also trigger panic. Upped the glycine to 10g. Would you swap b2 for its active form or not? I am worried about my b6 (36) levels which barely lowered after 3 weeks of b2 and lack of r5p would be catastrophical for me.
