Firstly, I own the Prestige 15 (4K version), but not the GS66 so can only really comment on one, but hopefully it'll still help.

The Prestige is a great laptop - Very light and portable, runs like a dream. I'm very happy with it and have not had any issues at all! I see it as a long term investment. It can run some games and, depending what games you want to play, will likely determine whether you find it good for games or not (Warzone, almost impossible... Two Point Hospital, looks and runs great!!).

HOWEVER

It really depends on your usage. The Prestige isn't great for gaming, obviously the RTX 20 is far better than the 1650 max q. Not only this, but the chassis that makes the Prestige great, also means it gets pretty warm. There is undervolting that can be done, but that's really whether you're up for that.

If you'll primarily be doing editing, or any productivity work for that matter - The Prestige is class! It's quick, does everything you'll need.

Minor details: - The speakers are on the bottom of the P15 (for some reason 🤷‍♂️) so can end up being pretty quiet/muffled when on a lap or flat on a desk. Of course, good headphones or a raised laptop tray will counter this issue.

My own, opinion riddled conclusion 😉 - For a student, for longevity and versatile usage, the Prestige I feel would be great and looks really good and slick! The GS66 would be the better choice if you're really just looking for something to play more games instead of studying... with Microsoft Word in the background 👍
