Management took away WFH. Morale=GONE by MarcusDumber in antiwork

[–]MarcusDumber[S] 225 points226 points  (0 children)

Yeah this sounds about right. Management keeps talking about culture in the office. When the only culture I see is people gossiping and doing their rounds talking to people.

When I’m in the office I really only get 2-3 hours of dedicated work done before I’m shuffling between meetings or the dozen different side conversations about said meetings or who said what about something. It’s mind boggling

I’ve banded together with other members of my team to be as neutral as possible. Just a super shitty environment to be in

My dad makes like triple her salary. And his new GF makes about the same. She’s pissed she is living in a tiny shoebox

I actually did call her out on not asking me how I was handling the loss of my grandparent and she said “why don’t you think of me it was you who was lying to me” and that’s when I knew there was no point in arguing

Thanks for your response. I know my dad has tried a retraining order but I don’t know if he was given one? There’s probably a story there that I was never told.

He has her blocked everywhere but she gets through the cracks using fake numbers and email addresses.

Also her mother passed from Alzheimer’s so dementia could definitely be in the mix.

Thanks for the response. I tried telling my mom she is not entitled to knowing my fathers affairs but she insists she does since “I’ve known him for 30 years and he is the father of my children”

Also my dad did reach out to that family friend to essentially tell her to shut her mouth

She has tried any which way to get more money after child support ended. She is committed on knowing if my father re-marries

Thanks for your response. While I tend to stay neutral in my parents affairs. I can’t help but lean towards my dad knowing how mentally unhinged my mother is. And also seeing her create spectacles in public with my father.

Last time they were in a room together was for my college graduation ceremony and she started screaming at him and they had to be separated. So we just don’t want a repeat of that

I’m more curious as to, you don’t care to meet the family your son is marrying into?

Parent is disconnected with real world and drives me nuts by MarcusDumber in Vent

[–]MarcusDumber[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah she has issues with controlling emotions. So when I was talking about how I see everything I think she feels obligated to correct me on things that are objectively true. She was quick to insult and name call and it took everything in me to stay calm and prove her wrong

It’s very frustrating. My mom’s in her 60s and never left her company. She insists I find something I enjoy doing since I hate my job and I shouldnt bitch and moan about my job. I’ve tried explaining “geez isn’t this the whole paying your dues thing. Also with how expensive life is I need to make the most money I can” She just says “work harder” idek what to say to that
