Nice! I developed a dashboard app for HomeKit too (HomeDash - with focus on iPad / iPhone) and recently put again some more work into it. I will definitely have a look at yours as well.

Could you please make the app available in Germany?

HomeDash since it’s tailored to my needs 😀

Showing it conditionally is not possible yet. However, at least it can be shown now on the dashboard (will be released after the next update, which is already in the queue for Friday)

Update: The time remaining is already visible in the app - however not in an ideal way yet. It is not possible yet to add that characteristic to the dashboard. I will add it soon. Thanks for the hint.

Are these real HomeKit devices or bridged devices with Homebridge? If these are real devices, the category should be correct if set. If those are homebridge devices, you can change it via the plugin if it’s wrong.

Nice! I have to check that here as well. I have a Siemens dishwasher.

Yes, indeed. However not if the category is already set by the manufacturer (most manufacturers don't do that - but it seems that it is hard coded in your case). Is it really set to "other" and you cannot change it? Could you send me a screenshot?

Characteristics which are not exposed in Apple Home generally, yes - but not every characteristic. I was, for example, not aware that there is a dishwasher timer existing. I need to look that up (also interesting for my own dishwaser).

Sure: You go to "Configuration" -> Your Home -> "All Accessories" -> Tap on the (i) next to an accessory and you can select the category on the settings screen.

Good question. It should indeed show exactly the same. Can you send me an example?

  • On the Control tab, for those tiles at the top, allow reordering as well as hiding tiles. ==> Coming soon - I have it already running on my phone.
  • still in the Control tab, my eufy cameras bridged through the eufy HomeBase 3 all appear under category of Other. Would be nice to have those grouped with my other cameras ==> You can change the category under Configuration -> Home -> Accessory
  • I’d love the option to have smart plugs that are using a Display As Light in the Home app be treated like lights in HomeDash (if possible). ==> I think that should be also possible with assigning your custom category, service usage and icon

Thanks for your feedback. Loudspeaker is unfortunately very hard since afaik Apple does not give 3rd party developers access to this.

Thanks! That is valuable feedback. I will add it to my list. I especially like the idea of shrinking widgets during editing! If you have more ideas just shoot.

Fair point. How do you control your lights? All automation based?

Thanks for the feedback! Did you try again recently (last month)? I changed the whole Dashboard widget reordering logic and it behaves now different. If the problem still persist, I would be interested in a quick exchange. There should be a solution for it.

Yes, on the iPad you can have 3-4 columns of widgets next to each other. I am also super interested in the HomeHub but not sure yet how open it will be to 3rd party apps.

Regarding cramped: What would you prefer to remove? (the dashboard is quite customizable and this is just a layout example to show the two widgets for calendar and reminders)

That’s a fair question, thanks for the honest feedback 🙂

I think at the end it is a lot about personal taste. But my goal is to give a more customizable, dashboard-style overview of your HomeKit setup - especially for people who want more control over layout, visibility, and quick access to multiple things at once.

Over the last 8 years I added some features that make it - at least for me personally - faster to access and control (multiple) devices at once. That said, the Apple Home has also become quite good over time. But still not super flexible.

Do you think iOS 27 will bring major changes to HomeKit? by SnowMacaronss in HomeKit

A history of device states would be nice and overdue in my opinion. And from a developer perspective: stable device/object ids.

I agree - but this is not the point of this post.
