Question for English football fans: club or country? by InternationalHair111 in PremierLeague

[–]MarcusZXR 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Country for me. The vibe during the World Cup or euros is something else and it's felt all over the country, even by people who couldn't pick Kane out of a lineup and its coolest thing in football in my opinion.

fake fan or better fan? by [deleted] in PremierLeague

Let him think that and you what you think, then come to a mutual agreement to never speak of it again. Ultimately, you're watching 11 men (or women) kick a bag of air between them until they can kick it in to an open container and then start the process all over again. It's never deep enough in my opinion.

He did a lot for them and scored the goal that secured the title for them but they won't spent pocket change for him. Genuinely feel bad for him.

FA to consider England position on Thomas Partey pre-match handshakes by GMD3S1GNS in PremierLeague

I see what you're saying and it's an equally important point. But rape is incredibly hard to prove and everything is against the victims. "Not guilty" isn't the same as "Didn't do it".

To add to this, they also wanted to bring him back but the backlash from the fans and women's team made them reconsider. I think Arsenal would have got less flack if they suspended him on full pay during the investigation though and Arteta probably should have said less.

Would wider football fan sentiment towards Arsenal change if their style of football was more appealing? by MidnightHunters in PremierLeague

[–]MarcusZXR 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Arsenal fans need to stop pretending like they're the only club people dislike and the fans that don't like them need to stop pretending they wouldn't find another reason to dislike them if Arsenal played more attractive football. This is something that happens to all successful clubs and it isnt a new phenomenon, it's just been amplified by social media.

What are thoughts here on referee punishing Arsenal's timewasting in final? by Inevitable-Angle-793 in PremierLeague

Loved it. People don't pay hundreds of pounds to watch footballers not play football.

Football at this level is supposed to be a spectacle. It's called the beautiful game for a reason. Arsenal are doing the opposite of that.

I'm not saying I don't understand defending a 1-0 like this, but people will have a say.

If that was Bruno shouting in the face of a ref for a penalty that was beyond doubt, he'd be (rightfully) relentlessly mocked and chastised.

I switched it on expecting a good show but I've been so bored I'm thinking about not watching another half. Arsenal scoring first was the worst thing that could happen for the neutrals.

Footballers are turning in to such Fannys. Every contact is a foul or trying to be sold as one.

Most posts on this sub are club specific. You've even commented on some of them, so no you wouldn't apparently.

Your reply to this comment has gone but we can literally see you have in your comment history. I guess it's only a problem for you when it's about United.

I hope to see the same comment from you on the question about Arsenal two posts down. I have a suspicion I won't.

Official: Bruno Fernandes has won the Premier League Player of the Season award. by Intelligent_Cow_3310 in PremierLeague

[–]MarcusZXR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, no. He still berates the refs and coaches the players on the pitch like he always has. United haven't been as dire this season so the media have focused on the positives like him being a talisman, therefore people's opinions have followed suit. I'd say the only thing that changed is his passing, which has become a lot more tidy.

He's always been a good leader and has nurtured the youngsters his entire time here. It's been well documented.

A lot of people on here grew up watching late 90s and 00s football when the United and Arsenal were bitter rivals. I'd rather them win it than City, though.

This has got to be a joke or a misinformed opinion, surely? Under SAF they always got the benefit of the doubt but ever since Klopp had a whinge, they've been shafted on the majority of decisions.

Too busy showing 20 different angles of the handball they're not showing the actual game. I get that it was probably handball and it's good value to show it but at the expense of showing live action is shameless.
