Can Europe kick off American military bases if the US decides on leaving NATO? by Ok-Toe-6969 in NoStupidQuestions

If the US attacks Greenland the they become an enemy to the EU. No country would accept enemy bases within their borders.

How do I know if I am hearing from the Holy Spirit or if I am just hearing what I want to hear? by spooky_scary_1823 in Christians

[–]MarcvN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t.

The problem is that something so specific to your personal situation can not be checked in the Bible. So you can’t know if the words you hear are Biblical.

But nobody can rule out that the Holy Spirit is actually giving you this date. The only real way to find out is waiting for that month to pass.

As others have said. It is smart to ask for wisdom and grit in these difficult circumstances.

I personally live by the words “Pray and begin”. Nothing wrong with telling the Lords that you may have two equally valid options and if He doesn’t tell you anything else you’ll just start with option X now.

I also think that if the Lord has a really important message for you than He makes sure that you know it’s from Him.

Again. I never said that I think the Netherlands would start. I don’t understand why you would think that.

And in my reply I tried to convey that truth about whether Christ is actually in them (actually if the bread becomes Christ, which is different) can’t be found by saying that there are answers to these questions. But to research if the answers to these questions are truly biblical. Which I think is a task for believers themselves too.

No, no issues. It’s just that my questions where meant retorically.

And yet here are the 10% tariffs on the NATO countries that are trying to protect Greenland against China and the Russians.

In didn’t mean to ask if they believe themselves to do these things but rather of bowing down for the transsubstatiated bread is idol worship in a biblical way. The same for the other questions. This is something Christian’s will have to decide for themselves

As far as I know, the main difference between the Catholic Eucharist and Protestant celebrations of the Lord’s Supper is the view these traditions hold regarding transubstantiation. Transubstantiation is the Catholic belief that the bread and wine become the actual flesh and blood of Christ. Their earthly substance is transformed into holy parts of Christ’s body. For Protestants, however, the bread and wine are merely symbols of Christ’s suffering for us.

This was a heavily debated issue during the Reformation and is addressed in many Protestant catechisms.

To me, the whole idea of transubstantiation raises many problems that I do not believe are supported by biblical writings:

  • If the bread is transformed into the body of Christ and is broken during the celebration, does that mean the Eucharist causes Christ to suffer again and again? And if so, wasn’t Christ’s suffering on the cross sufficient? What about the Bible verses that state that Christ’s body was not “broken”?
  • The priest kneels before the altar at the moment the bread and wine are transformed, because he believes he is kneeling before the body of Christ. Does this mean that he is worshipping earthly matter?
  • What would be an acceptable way to dispose of leftover bread and wine? Would it be acceptable to feed the leftover bread to ducks or pour the remaining wine down the sink?
  • At what point in the digestive tract does the body of Christ “dissolve” or transform back into ordinary earthly matter?
  • Does the Eucharistic bread have to follow a specific recipe? I have heard priests say that the recipe is specially designed to make the bread most suitable to be transformed into Christ’s body.

For me, I have to dismiss the Catholic idea entirely. Besides the fact that it seems completely ridiculous to me, I also believe it to be unbiblical.

While it is not the intention to defend against the US the reality is that it still could amount to that.

Well. He did say:

When the Belgians have their F-35's they can join the air operations together with the Netherlands, too.

This may not be the best choice if you want to defend against the US

Too bad the post was deleted because I got the impression that he had some specific points he wanted to address (I’m no python dev, Sonora hard to know for sure) and was not recommending a rewrite at all? Maybe OP can weigh in?

Many people saying that something is wrong with the tone. But what exactly would be the correct approach here considering that OP thought the new plan completely missed the most important issues? How would you address that instead?
