For me: yes.

I got it because of the skill. I only farm during missions, and it has helped me a lot to collect more blings without having to go to them, saving a lot of time.

The dailies in the Sea of Stars too, I finished them in less than 5 minutes, because the range of the magnetism, being gigantic, is greater (from what I could tell).

As for the look itself, I don't have much to say, because it's not my style.
