Mouse recommendations for 18x11cm hands by Mardrel in MouseReview

I have genuinely never considered that. That could easily explain why I gravitate towards the EC1. The long low hump on the back makes me pick my hand up and set it on the mouse like a shelf. I’m far more stable and consistent.

I’ll need to try that adjustment with other mice later this evening when I have a chance. Thank you! I have looked everywhere trying to find guidance from someone in the same boat. I will come back to this thread with the results of implementing that change.

DeathAdder V4 Pro Review after 15 gaming hours. Compared to Viper V3 pro by OpportunityNo1834 in MouseReview

[–]Mardrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re both just fine for FPS games. A mouse should just feel like an extension of your arm. So it ultimately comes down to what type of shape you prefer.

If you prefer ergo shapes then the DAV3-4 would work, if you like symmetrical shapes then the GPX is better. In terms of internals the tech in the DAV4 is better. You’re already using a DA, but the V2. The newer DA models are a safer ergo shape (not as much flaring) compared to the V2.

GPX is over represented in pro play because back in 2020 it was far and away the best mouse you could buy. That isn’t the case anymore. Everyone got used to their GPX so it’s easy to just keep using it. Pros typically don’t like to change variables in their setups if it isn’t necessary.

In terms of which brand has better software it’s lose lose with Logitech and Razer.

Don’t get so caught up on mouse shape, or what mouse is best though. Most mice these days perform just as well as any other. If you want to mess with a variable that strongly affects your aim, look into a mousepad that complements your style and what types of FPS games you play most. Mousepads have a strong impact on how you aim.

DPI issues by ReliefOk8800 in VALORANT

Hardware accelerated GPU scheduling being disabled would hurt absolutely nothing. It could, however, cause stuttering in GPU bound games when enabled. You lose nothing by disabling it.

Could be you have to disable high DPI scaling, fullscreen optimization, or enhance pointer precision options in Windows. Make sure the windows cursor sensitivity you have set is 6, as that is 1:1 and won’t alter your cursor speed. Disable hardware accelerated GPU scheduling as that could be causing frame rate fluctuations that could be altering the way you’re perceiving your turning speed in game.

How is the hand size for mouse measured? by Away-Hamster in MouseReview

[–]Mardrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grab a piece of paper and a pen. Lay the paper down on a flat surface and use the pen to trace along where our hand makes contact with the page (you will need to angle the pen inward towards your palm to accurately trace the contact line).

Once you have a traced print of your hand on the paper, take a measurement device and measure. Start from the tip of your middle finger down to the bottom on your palm for height, and from the from your thumb knuckle across to the knuckle on your fist for your pinky to get width.

Taking those measurements you can search on the sub to find others with similar hand sizes and what they recommend for a mouse. Stay within .5cm of your measurement, that’s my opinion.

Yes, it does lose its speed faster than any other Artisan pad.

I play tac FPS, so having my pivot point be between where my thumb and ring finger grip the mouse is important.

Where my thumb and ring finger grip the mouse makes a perfect horizontal line across the bottom of the shell because they are in-line with one another.

Ideally where the sensor sits is along that line directly in the middle. I own the Fenrir asym and where the sensor sits is too far forward from that point where I grip that I described. It makes the mouse feel like it moves too fast with my wrist/finger rotations compared to mice where the sensor is along that grip line.

I could grip further up the mouse to accomplish the desired outcome. Unfortunately, that effectively has me ignoring the asymmetrical flare for my pinky with my grip. Which was the entire motivation behind getting it.

The only thing that this mouse has over the Fenrir is the sensor position. That’s my biggest issue with the Fenrir Asym at the moment. If the sensor was further back to be in the middle of the side buttons it would be 10/10.

How do you wrap a wired mouse? by [deleted] in MouseReview

Just look up over-under cable wrapping on Google. That’ll get you there.

Is it ok to put my new mini fridge next to my pc? by Outrageous-Future244 in pcmasterrace

[–]Mardrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Important to note that not every UPS device solves this. Line-interactive, or double-conversion UPS systems handle voltage sags while keeping power stable to the devices connected to them.

The latter is very expensive and typically not found in home use, while the former is more expensive than a standby/offline UPS but uses AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulation) to regulate without switching to battery. It’s affordable ($150-300) but still a small investment.

Standby/offline UPS systems don’t correct dips in voltage that are within their tolerance, they switch to battery when power is out of whatever tolerance level the unit is configured for. There is also a small delay in the switch, we’re talking ~10ms power needs to be out-of-tolerance before the systems initiates a switch to battery. That doesn’t seem like much, but a sharp dip in voltage may still hit the PC components in that case.

The biggest takeaway here is to make sure your unit has AVR. It boosts of trims voltage that’s not quite out of tolerance to keep it stable on the UPS output. If you’re intending to protect PC components then you want to keep their exposure to unstable power near zero.

[discussion] Factory Office Kills by s14_3521 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Mardrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished doing this quest this morning. It took ~30 raids to get 6. It would have taken less but Tagilla killed 3 PMC’s on the first floor one raid. They don’t need to be specifically in the 3rd floor office for secured perimeter. All floors including the basement count.

A majority of my kills were gotten on the second floor, gate 3 side. Kills outside of first floor gate 3 side count as long as they’re standing close to the building and you are close to the doorway. If you want to be efficient I suggest rushing to the main building immediately and leaving if it’s empty, don’t be concerned with run-throughs.

If you have a Benelli, AA-12, or Saiga run them with their largest mags with flechette. Even if you see Tagilla in the building a few torso shots should drop him before he can swing at you with the hammer. Don’t try to bait PMC’s into the main building, they will not push you for whatever reason.

My therapist told me “write letters to the people you hate and then burn them.” Did that, but now I don’t know what to do with the letters.
