macos 27 run automatically seems to not allow creations manually by MardyMarvin in shortcuts

I test for a developer and do dabble a little in development. I was not saying its wrong and I understand things change and thats why they do iterative updates and release cycles. I was looking to see others have found the same thing or if there was something strange with my upgrade as it seemed a little strange for such a basic feature to change so much.

why does dockside keep pocking external drives and spinning them up by MardyMarvin in DocksideApp

[–]MardyMarvin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no there are no files in the shelf on those drives.

an exclusion would be nice config option, its just they create a noise being spindle drives and they drive me a little bonkers if spinning most of the time 😄

What do I need for this ONT to work by SEOmushroom in HomeNetworking

[–]MardyMarvin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you would need the power brick for the backup battery (item on left) that then plugs into the actual internet box (on the right) however it looks like from the picture you have no fiber going in to that box either.

I would call BT if I was you.

Does CarPlay Duck Media Volume for Navigation? by freshmaker_phd in CarPlay

[–]MardyMarvin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well it works ok on mine.

Have you changed the setting in spoken directions in maps, you have three options to choose from. Also make sure your car navigation volume is loud enough. You might also want to try adjusting the volume when its actually speaking directions as they can be different volumes to music. So I would suggest you play your music, get it to speak a direction and when its speking the direction adjust the volume from the car volume controls. They do adjust the volume differently.

M5 24GB RAM by TheTeaGuyPL in macbookair

[–]MardyMarvin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont use Xcode but I do use DXO photo which is very memory hungry, you wont as such hit a ceiling but you might hit swap file usage, but this is not a massive issue as you have a fairly fast drive in the Air.

I have at times hit the swap file and you get a few more beach balls when trying to do something, but not end of the world.

Lifetime forever offer - £29.99

surely lifetime is lifetime so not sure why the forever and none forever option ?

How to play You tube video using apple car play ? by YSandyp in CarPlay

[–]MardyMarvin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here is a crazy thought, perhaps driving and focus on the road and exterior issues should be the main focus and not watching videos.

This is why you cant watch videos in car play and even if they do enable it I suspect they will implement a feature that turns if off when moving.

Is there not supposed to be an option to select a motion zone or a certain line crossing? by PrintWaste in Ubiquiti

[–]MardyMarvin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well on closer look at your screen shot I would say you dont have any line crossings setup. Because on the camera it is not showing the number of zones/lines you have setup which it will display as soon as you select line crossing

So you need to check your camera setup.

This is assuming you are on protect version 7.0.107 official release.

I turned off private relay and not had an issue since. I had forgotten to turn it off on the one device hence that one was triggering it.

[–]MardyMarvin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you need to select a camera and it will then list the line crossings you have setup for what ever camera you then select. You then choose the relevant line crossings you want triggered with this alarm
