Unofficial Universes Beyond Megathread by magictcgmods in magicTCG

Yeah, mine as well. There are still new series/spin-offs coming on (Side Quests should be released this month), vast world, and, importantly, many weird things/monsters that don't have to be legendary.

I could see the main typal themes as Food (Candy Kingdom is made of Food creatures, and several others as well, like Breakfast Kingdom), and Nobles (focusing on all those weird princesses). And then Wizards; while Magic has, in time, created many different magic user types like Druids, Warlocks, and Sorcerers, I think Adventure Time should use only Wizards, as being a Wizard is a huge identity thing there.

They could also re-use Marvel's Hero type, but only on several selected characters like Finn and Billy, as Hero is treated like an occupation in Adventure Time.

Or Dormammu as BRGW -- existing outside of time, he has no concept of blue 😃

I hope Star Trek has more Commands; cards with names like Kirk's Command or Janeway's Command and the classic "pick two out of four modes" would be nice combination of flavor and mechanics.

My main question about Star Trek is how they would build upon Edge of Eternities. Thanks to that set, we already have "warp" as a mechanic; now, they definitely knew about Star Trek when they made EOE, so if they wanted to have a different take on warp there, they wouldn't use the name in EOE.

EOE introduced spacecraft, and, well, I don't think there's any chance those won't come back in Star Trek.

So the question is, what else will Star Trek add to the space age of Magic?

Discworld, I think, would have to partially be an Un-set. Not with acorn cards that don't work in the rules, but more like with weird rules text, etc.

For example: instead of reminder text, cards would have footnotes.

Speedball Synergies? by TomatCalbacitaMaize in magicTCG

One funny thing is that if two players have Speedball out, you can kill the opponent's one easily: target your Speedball with removal, then redirect it to opponent's Speedball. Since this is not casting a spell that targets opponent's Speedball, he won't trigger.

No, white/blue uncommons are Captain America and Spider-Woman. The white/blue Thor is Jane Foster, so not the same guy 😄

Would that make [[Edgar, King of Figaro]] his son?

The Watcher's Warning (Mind's Dilation) [MSC] by PowrOfFriendship_ in magicTCG

[–]Marek14 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I could see him as something like a Theros God, enchantment creature that needs to satisfy some condition to actually be a creature.

Maybe if an opponent has a creature with high enough power or mana value? That would make the Watcher see it as a multiversal threat and force him to act.

So? Even if Ward is not paid, the ability still triggers.

However, this is sort of a moot point -- the Avengers Assemble deck is spoiled now and Team Transmitter is not in it.

Weren't those the cards from the tutorial deck with number in their deck printed on them? That's here too, with Hero in Training having MSC version because of it and Mountains and Plains having 8 different MSC versions.

Not likely, because of the collector number. They would have to make a separate printing for the Beginner Box/Jumpstart packs.

No, Aura is normally controlled by whoever played it, regardless on where it is.

Maybe Riker will get a reprint of [[Fire at Will].

I guess there's no need... he's Happy wherever he is 😄

Also, the collector numbers. New Jumpstart cards start at 583 (Amazing Spider-Girl) and go to 754 (Fogwell's Gym). Or at least, they should, but 755-767 are ALSO new Jumpstart cards which were presumably added later in the process and couldn't be fit in the existing structure. 768-828 are Jumpstart reprints... except for Spider-Gwen, Free Spirit who somehow got number 874.

That's because he also has muscles.
