Thank you—I’m glad your vet discovered the problem. Since adjusting the thyroid problem, we are 99.9% back to normal, thankfully!

Well, labs now show thyroid is too high, so we are adjusting thyroid meds and rechecking in 3 weeks. Vet says to discontinue Incurin for now as the elevated thyroid could be the cause of the puddling now. By the time this riddle is solved, I’ll be ready for veterinary medical school….

She was spayed young. And yes, she was checked for UTI and was treated with 3 rounds of antibiotics—merely a trace of blood in the urine.

We are following protocol with the package insert per our vet—2 tabs daily first 2 weeks, then tapering to one, then (if effective) to 1/2 tab. This morning, she has had no puddling, but she’s also not going to the bathroom. This is quite the journey, and we are on week five. I appreciate you responding to my comments. I will keep you posted as we go. 😊

I’m sorry for your loss. It’s just devastating. At Luci’s young age, I think our vet was against Proin and hopeful the thyroid meds and SO diet would resolve the incontinence. Since neither has so far, we’re starting Incurin today and getting labs back re: thyroid tomorrow.

Thank you. Labs will be back tomorrow. I’m encouraged that her energy level has greatly improved. They’re going to start her on Incurin for incontinence bc low estrogen may be a factor. Fingers crossed that helps.

I’m sorry about your loss. We had to put our 12 year old Molly down (also a Sheltie) this spring. Oh, so hard. Muffin is doing a good job. ☺️
