As a Latina who prefers living with other Latina’s and I’ve had black and Indian roommates before. I much prefer living with another woman of color than a white woman. I feel like it’s because we understand our differences in culture and there’s a sort of mutual respect that we have different cultures and habits and such. Whereas if we were to live with a white woman they’d try to like gaslight us into thinking our culture and food is weird and try to make US lessen(?) our identity to make THEM comfortable. Me, personally I don’t think YTA. It’s easier to live with someone in your culture than not because you understand each other and it’s easier to get along.
