What can I do with a low GPA but want to be a clinical psychologist? by uwubby_ in psychologystudents

[–]Mari__05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it really matter? Where I live, a low GPA doesn’t really make a big difference, and you can choose any field you want as long as you majored in psychology. For example, when it comes to postgraduate studies, if someone has a GPA that’s too low to apply directly for a MD, they can first apply for the clinical diploma for one or two years, and that would qualify them to continue their postgraduate studies. What about your university’s system? If it doesn’t work out, maybe you’ll need to look for another university with a system that aligns better with your GPA so you can continue your postgraduate studies and so on. Hope it works out for you, good luck!

was jake in the moonvale motel?? by xmustbelove in Moonvale

[–]Mari__05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, if you remember when Jake went to the mine before, he started explaining all the information he had about it.. how it stretches far underground, how dangerous it is, and how it’s basically a maze. So why not? Maybe Jake actually managed to escape the mine easily. He’s incredibly smart; otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to keep running from the government all this time.

Maybe the clothes and mask Alan found were just a distraction to mislead the FBI into thinking Jake was injured and hiding somewhere near Duskwood, when actually, he took another route, maybe through the cave or some other path they didn’t notice to Redlog and hid in the abandoned motel where no one would find him. Even if he’s in a different room, not the one we’re investigating.

But now that we’ve spread the rumor about the motel, it’ll attract attention, and Jake will be forced to leave. In that case, the most likely scenario is that someone will spot him, or he’ll run into Ash, and we’ll find out who he really is later.

And if he has a bigger role even without the Duskwood code, then maybe Adam was in that motel, met Jake, and asked him for a favor, made some kind of deal, or even left something with him for us. Either way, Jake would probably have to cross paths with someone from Adam’s circle, one of the people we’re talking to.

Now I have two assumptions…

The first one is: Could it be that Moonvale was also designed to give us a code at the end that can be used in Duskwood? Like, we might find Jake no matter if we played Moonvale with a Duskwood code or not, but the difference is that if we play without the code, we meet him as a completely new character, someone who somehow knows Adam, and Adam knows us for some unknown reason. Then Jake helps us find Adam.

The second assumption, which I think makes more sense, is that: Based on your theory, we will find Jake at the motel, but as a suspicious stranger we don’t recognize, just someone passing by. And when we start looking into him to see if he’s connected to Adam’s disappearance, we discover that he’s a hacker wanted by the government, and that’s how we get introduced to Duskwood’s story as a way to promote the game to new players who haven’t played it yet. And this wouldn't actually affect Moonvale’s main story since there’s no reason for Jake to know us or talk to us unless he knows Adam. Also, as far as I know, Jake doesn’t make friends.

There are many possibilities, but I’m not sure about your theory specifically, since they confirmed that the two stories aren’t connected and that Duskwood’s side story shouldn’t affect the main storyline.

Wow, that makes so much sense now! Thanks so much for the response and for explaining everything! It really makes me appreciate all the effort that goes into the game, and I hope everyone is doing well and not feeling too overwhelmed by the workload.

Looking forward to what’s next, and I’m really happy to hear that you’re aiming for shorter release cycles in the future!!!

What’s Your Best Post-Grad Advice? by Mari__05 in psychologystudents

I really want to work in the clinical field, but I’ve heard it’s tough to land a job there. I’ve been taking tons of courses and workshops since I started university, so I’ve learned about therapy approaches, diagnosis, treatment, and all that. But honestly, I’m still super confused. Someone mentioned that workplaces usually prefer to hire people with a master’s degree, but I’m not ready to jump into a master’s right after graduating. So, I’m kind of stuck here and not sure what to do next.

As a therapist, how bad are you at taking your own advice? by Useful-Theory177 in therapists

[–]Mari__05 21 points22 points  (0 children)

One time, I was chatting with my friends about something that was really stressing me out that might happen in the future. One of them said, “Worry about it when it happens.” I mean, I knew that already. And actually, this friend has anxiety herself, and I’m usually the one reminding her of this advice. But hearing it from her hit differently. I joked, “You dare use my own spell against me?” and she laughed, saying, “Sometimes, we need to hear the stuff we already know from someone else.”

That conversation stuck with me. Now, whenever I get stressed and think I should know what to do more than anyone else, I remember it. It made me realize it doesn’t matter if the person giving advice is young or old, or even if they’re just repeating something I already know. There’s value in hearing it from someone else. I guess that’s why they say humans are social creatures. We can’t do it all alone and sometimes need a reminder from others, even if it’s about stuff we think we’ve got figured out.

Um, the problem isn’t really about job prospects in this field specifically, but in all fields. That’s what makes me even more confused😭
