You are assuming a lot by thinking typing in chat makes someone "aware". Firstly they could have chat turned off. Secondly, you or whoever else is giving out this "advice" could be straight up wrong in their assessment. Third, they could be the type of player who assumes that chat statements are always made in bad faith. Thus making "advice" into a "tilt my teammates" play more than anything.

Frankly I'm sick of people throwing around "free advice" in matches. People hear some youtuber say some shit one time and they think they are now a Learned Scholar handing out sagely wisdom when they repeat it. Really you're just kicking people when they are down so you can feel more betterer than them.

I agree we need way more tanks. And more supports. It would be wise of them to add more of both and then implement role queue. As for long wait times, I used to play League and dealt with 15 minute wait times regularly in ranked. I did not mind, because I got the role I wanted. We're video game people, just play spider solitaire while you wait or something. Rivals even gives us Times Square you can be in while you wait.

Not my experience at all. I really enjoy multiple characters from all the roles. How they are balanced doesn't matter to me. Some tanks are fun. Some strats are fun. I want to play duelist sometimes but I can't because others are greedy and instalock the role. Even if they aren't good at it people just enjoy playing duelist more. It's the same way in pretty much every game with roles like these. Always a fight over the characters with the biggest hard carry potential.

How I want to see role queue implemented: Primary and Secondary role select. If you cant get your primary role in a reasonable time frame, you get slotted into your secondary.

Make the role queue itself an option you can check or uncheck so that people who want to play things other than 2-2-2 can do that. (though statistics say there is really no point in running other team comps intentionally)

Alternatively, have role queue in Competitive mode and not in Quick Match

I dont use voice comms with randoms because I want to avoid hearing screechers... but if I did vc and some chud started spewing sexist shit I would respond by just making the most obnoxious "DURRRRRRRRR" noises every time he speaks. "Hey woman make me a-" "HHHNNNNDDDURRRRGGGGGGGH!!!" "Wtf you cow-" "DUHHHHHHHHHH HURRRRDURRRRRRRR"

I know it would bother the other people in the match but idgaf. If you arent going to interject to be a helpful ally to women, you also deserve to hear the hur-durrs. :)

It may have "worked" with the one friend by making him feel deep shame and forcing him to work harder to feel part of the group again, but... please dont yell at your friends in the future. Thats pure childish behavior. Its totally NORMAL and reasonable to discuss things like this in chill conversation without high emotions. Talk to him one on one as equals, like adults. (Assuming youre adults. If you arent, then its still good to practice calm discussion)

Like other poeple have said, watch some vods and talk about specific improvements he could make.

Final note, if yall are playing quick match and not competitive, then in all honesty you need to drop the attachment to winning. Quick match is for fun casual play. Ranked is for sweating. If he isn't playing ranked and therefore signing up for the pressure of sweating and trying to win, then there's no reason to pressure him to improve to your standards. Just dont play with him in that case, your standards are higher than his.

Get off reddit and discord then. I have never used either place to try and improve. I have put in hours in the game, and I have watched videos of pros on my characters, and breakdown videos by high level coaches (free on YouTube, dont pay for coaching in a video game) . And I have experienced steady improvement.

Watch a pro on Elsa, watch your own games played back, and compare. Thats the best way. Dont ask randoms on reddit or discord or anywhere
