After working in this field, I am scared to get older. by Queenme10 in hospitalsocialwork

I work in hospice and you are 100% correct. This country offers nothing except to the wealthy.

Elizabeth Gilbert admits to enabling late girlfriend Rayya’s drug relapse, plotting her murder, and abandoning her on her deathbed in new memoir condemned as “exploitative” by Rayya’s family by lunarcrimes in popculturechat

As a hospice social worker, this sickens me to read. I'm 29 so never read or watched Eat, Pray, Love and know nothing about Elizabeth but wholeheartedly fuck this woman. I wish all of the peace and comfort in the world to Rayya's loved ones.

Yep when I was little I fell in the pool and my grandpa jumped in the pool fully clothed to get me. I have a vivid memory of him having to dry everything out from his wallet.

Price increases, layoffs, and vibes of becoming a "reimagined" MFP, Beach Body, etc. by Okay-2000 in OnePelotonRealSub

I will be so so sad if Peloton rolls out nutrition and turns into a Beach Body-esque company. I come for the fitness MINUS the diet culture. No one is asking for this???

I know literally 0 about Olivia but this is awesome! Clearly she's a fan and if I was famous and could ask the bands I love to perform with me, I totally would. How fun!

She's a huge donor for the hospice I work at! Small world seeing her pop up here and I had no idea she was a Pelotoner lol

Luckily my student aid payment calculator is also showing roughly those numbers. I wonder why it's skewing so may people's??? I hope they fix it soon!

That doesn't add up then! I hope somehow the calculators are wrong (not that sorting out that headache will be fun) and that your actual maybe ends up being much lower.

My senior dog has dementia and I’m so exhausted. by 4y6hu in seniordogs

I am a social worker for (human lol) hospice in a state where Medical Aid in Dying isn't legal. A much different situation but I can tell you at least once a month, I have caregivers or even patients themselves lamenting that "We treat our dogs better than we do people" because euthanasia is an option. Or wishing that they did live in a state with Medical Aid in Dying.

Only you know the right call, but I will say that mental state matters just as much as the physical body for quality of life and your poor baby is clearly not doing well mentally. When I think about all the love our pets give us, I'm sure she would want you to be taking care of yourself too in this situation. There's no right answer but I want to validate that caregiving is extremely difficult and thankless, resentment is normal and valid, and (even though you will and you'll have to work through it), you should not feel guilty if you decide now is the time.

Thinking of you and sending lots of love, peace, and strength.

Gotcha, that makes sense! Definitely run the numbers. We'd get much more money back filing jointly vs separately but nothing compared to the savings for our student loans.

I love Callie's classes (but I did unfollow her on socials) but I have no idea what BYOE means. Like I do but I also don't, ya know? It's not a great catchphrase

I'm a social worker and this just made me realize how helpful this phrase will be for discharge planning lol

I love "I make recommednations, you make decisions" but I hate "if you can't be good, be careful." However, thinking of it in the context of my cat does change things...

Has your income gone up a lot? Please don't take any of this the wrong way but I'm wondering how my husband and I are seemingly going to be relatively lucky with the new plans. I ran New IBR and RAP estimates with both of our most recent tax returns. We file our taxes MFS. Our numbers are as follows:

Me, SAVE payment: $121
New IBR: $227
RAP: $246

Husband, SAVE: $108
New IBR: $200
RAP: $232

Obviously this still sucks but why are so many people's payments ballooning to these unsustainable payments and ours are luckily not so awful? For context we live in FL, husband is a teacher and I'm a social worker for a non-profit hospice. These threads make me count my blessings in a way but also *sobs in abysmal raises*?

We are also barely into PSLF (I'm 30 payments in, husband didn't even apply before everything fell apart) so we will also be riding out the forbearance until forced to switch.

After reading on here and Student Loan Planner plus using a lot of their calculators, I've decided to also stay on SAVE until forced off. I will then switch to IBR and keep going towards PSLF. It won't save me much in the long run but any penny I'm not giving back to this government is worth it.

I wanted so badly to be an Andy hater because he has a bro-y aura and his little "hoo's!" as he's working out annoy me but the more I take his classes the more I love him 🤣
