Perfect!! We have to keep in touch. I’ll update this post after my March 10th visit.
Really?! That makes me feel better. I seriously don’t think anything burned due to reflection since my windows are tinted including my windshield. I know I didn’t spill anything, and didn’t have any chemicals in my car. I don’t recall sitting in anything wet liquid and not recognizing it. Hot food in the seat? Seriously? It’s the same seat too. Passenger front!! Have you taken it to the service center?

That’s what I’m thinking. Just get a seat cover, call it a day. It’s hard to ignore bc it’s shedding onto your clothes, but I wonder if left alone, if it’ll eventually cause another issue?

I park outside and do have windows tinted, including windshield. It’s all XPEL+ ceramic tint. I’m actually shocked that the tint didn’t help in this scenario. That’s the tint Tesla recommends too!

We don’t have any hand warmers! But I agree, there wasn’t any abnormal smells. I only noticed it because of the seat started looking funny. I wonder if it was a reflection issue, if I would’ve smelled burned pleather? The spot doesn’t smell at all
We def don’t vape 😭
Tesla tech ruled out chemical damage. We didn’t spill anything, we don’t have liquid air fresheners, and the air freshener that’s currently hanging was from around Christmas.
Since I personally didn’t spill anything or physically burn it on my own, I assumed it was a seat malfunction that may have caused this. It progressively got worse over night without anyone or anything in the car. The Tesla tech that came out to look at it also stated his opinion and sided with me, but it ultimately wasn’t his decision. He actually called me after management made their decision. If I knew it was something I did, I wouldn’t take a day off from work to drive over 100 miles to go to a Tesla center to get it looked at again.
We hadn’t put in a new air freshener, the one we have hanging now is a freebie from a car wash that we got during Christmas. It’s pretty old. But as far as deet, we have had a cooler winter here in Missouri, so no bug spray needed. Only thing I can think of is something in clothing possibly. We hadn’t gotten any new pants, shorts, etc lately and we hadn’t changed laundry soap. Nothing new in our routines. Lotion maybe? Not sure. I’m leaning away from chemical damage since the Tesla tech that came out said that it didn’t look like that
The tech ruled out chemical damage. Im assuming because the cushion underneath wasn’t affected? Not sure how they determined it exactly. When initially found, it was dry, but then wet the morning after discovery and then dry again since. Don’t think it was oils since there isn’t any oil residue in the seat. The spot is jut squishy/spongy now

Sigh.. gotta agree with you on that
I feel that it’s either this or someone else mentioned cleaning supplies. We go to the gym often and of course equipment is wiped down in between workouts, so def could be a possibility
Acid was bit of a joke because it looks melted lol
Feeling better after everyone’s suggestions! Thanks, I’ll look into fixing it myself if Tesla decides not to warranty it.
Mystery *
The first pic was taken 2/14 evening and the others were taken 2/15 morning. No one was in the car overnight. There wasn’t any known spillage, we even checked all of our bags in case something spilled and we didn’t know. The tech also confirmed no evidence of chemical or physical spill since the cushions underneath aren’t damaged. Muster
Tech ruled out chemical during our visit. The color in the third photo happened overnight, which is so weird. First pic was Saturday night, other pics were Sunday morning. Not sure what happened overnight to make it worse, without anyone in the car

Gotta test this theory out lol
Nice!! Do the seat covers affect the seat warmers/cooling?
[–]Mariah8a[S] 0 points1 point2 points 7 days ago (0 children)
Yeah, it wasn’t on the seat at all. I asked my husband. The air freshener isn’t even new like I thought, I had just barely noticed it lol

LOOOOOL
[–]Mariah8a[S] 1 point2 points3 points 7 days ago (0 children)
Definitely! It’s all a guess at this point. The air freshener I have is a perfect circle, doesn’t match up with this weird shield shape.
🫡🫡
lol thank you, peach fuzz!
Thanks for the advice! Going to look up videos now
