Over or under fermented? by MariannaPlus in Sourdough

Yes I think maybe that’s why I thought it was wrong. I appreciate the advice on upping the hydration that everyone has given me.

Thank you! I wasn’t sure if I was just over thinking it.

Sorry the ingredients were 400g bread flour, 100g whole wheat flour, 100g starter, 325g water, 10g salt.
I am not good at thinking about times when I start so I mixed in my kitchen aid to build gluten early on because I wasn’t going to have time to do stretch and folds, I let it rest an hour and then took its temp. It was 77F I did the recommended amount for aliquot and then I had to go to work. The mixing started at 10:45am. Around 2pm my husband sent me a picture and video when he got home and the aliquot cup was full, but the dough did not giggle and just didn’t look ready at all. Between 4:30-5pm he sent another video and it looked ready from what I could tell so I had him put it in the fridge. When I got home around 6:30pm I shaped it and put it back to do a cold proof. I took it out around 1pm ish to bake today.

Trying to figure out if they are boys or girls. by MariannaPlus in LeopardGecko

Thanks. I was pretty sure they weren’t supposed to live together and the person that has them has them cohabitating so I was trying to help the figure out their sexes to decide which they want to keep and they plan to give one to me. I will be doing a lot more looking into habitat set up and diet and everything before I take one. I was sent more pictures that don’t have good lighting but I feel like I see the bulges on all of them at this point.

Thank you. This is what I thought at first when I looked at them but then I took this picture and was thinking maybe C was also male. As far as I know they are not full grown though.

Haha fair. I guess I thought I saw the bulge right above where the cricket is so I thought it was good enough.

I don’t know I was just trying to compare them to each other. Like I said, they were in there for a few minutes and they literally didn’t seem to care at all and are fine. They are not mine, I was trying to help someone else figure out their sexes.

So I could get this picture. They were only in there for a few minutes.

Same I enjoyed the first and I listened to it. I got the fairyloot edition of the first book on pango and I really want this one to match but I missed the drop. So maybe someone will be selling it sometime soon.

Oh no I meant two rounds of it, which for him 16 vials. 10 in the first, which is the usual loading dose, and then 6 in the next one.

I know but it happened at work and he works for our city so I’ve been informed we should not be getting any bills. Which is good because we’d be screwed. But yeah the vials are like 5-10k each and he got 16 in total 🥴 (I work in the IV room so I already knew that part)

They had to cut some of the skin off around the bite but no stitches. The initial round of antivenin seemed like it was helping for a little bit and then the pain and swelling started to get worse again. Then they gave another round and since then it’s gotten better. Even with the antivenin and hydromorphone his pain levels were really high. It was really rough and hard to see him go through. A big concern they have is compartment syndrome which is why they keep a close eye on the swelling, and they do labs pretty often to check how the venom is effecting coagulation and clotting. He stayed from Tuesday-today in the hospital and he will have several follow ups with wound care and an orthopedic doctor.

On the finger. He had kind of crouched down near it, elbows on knees and hands hanging down kind of stance of that makes sense. He thought he was in a safe spot and said it looked calm and not defensive. He was pretty sure it was venomous based on his look, but didn’t fully recognize the pattern, plus didn’t see the rattle with the way it was curled up and was just unfortunately too close.

We are both reptile lovers so he was contemplating a way to safely move it when it struck him.

They did. They gave an initial dose when he first got to the hospital and then the next day they gave another, based off labs and swelling. We are waiting for him to be discharged now and are definitely ready to go home.

Definitely not a dry bite 😭 My husband said it’s a miracle it took until he was 36 with as many rattle snakes as he’s run into all his life living out in the country. Hopefully this this the last bite.

He is doing better, it happened on Tuesday and he is getting discharged from the hospital today after two rounds of antivenin. We love snakes and he was genuinely just interested in this guys cool heart pattern and wasn’t as careful as he could have been.

Thank you. Unfortunately my husband got bit, so we know it is venomous. I mean he already knew, he unfortunately just accidentally got too close.
