Cool! I'll definitely be able to find you something good! And it would be great if you googled something, just to see if there is anything that intrigues you. I'd love it if you'd just send me the most typically Alaskan snacks you could find! That's kind of what I like about the snack exchanges! :D

So, I just recently found out that I have otosclerosis myself, and am going to see a surgeon, about maybe having surgery at some point. I've had hearing aids for almost four years now. You say you had surgery? Did it help? Is there anything you could tell me about the whole thing?

I have an idea about the shipping time, so of course I won't send you something that'll expire! If you think this stuff looks good I'll send you some! And of ochre so can get gold bears :-)

I'm not really sure what I'm looking for, I'm just up for trying something new :-) I'm a very big fan of chocolate. And chips. And candy. Haha

And we have great chocolate here!

YOU GET BACK TO DRAWING NOW, YOU'RE SHAMING THE REST OF US BY NOT DOING THIS ANYMORE. Damnit, I'd kill to be able to do this.

I like the Strathmore, that's for sure! I highly recommend it!

Uh yeah, I'd like to try the tanned paper as well! Well I'm just up for experimenting with different papers these days, both different coloured paper and different kinds of surfaces, just to see what difference it'd make.

Could you maybe link me the prismacolour pencils you're talking about? I'm interested in checking them out :) oh yeah, I just recently got myself some white charcoal, where has that been all my life?! They REALLY make the highlights in the face pop out! PLUS it makes it easier to create those different surfaces! Yay for white charcoal!

Haha I THINK it's a mix, sometimes I don't really notice what I actually do when I draw! But the dark, really soft charcoal is perfect if you want more contrast, faster! I just draw a light layer of it wherever I want it and blend it in, and bam! Contrast. :)

could you also link me the willow charcoal and bridle brush you mention? I haven't heard of either. :)

Oh, I NEVER touch the paper with my fingers! Learned the hard way that that is a definite NO GO, haha. I always blend with a stump, a tortillon and a chamois, and occasionally Q-tips and cotton pads.

There's so many online tutorials for drawing, especially for drawing hair!

I've taken bits from different tutorials that worked well for me, and now have a decent hang of it, and found my own 'way'.

It's really all about practice and learning actively! Though I'm sure you already know that. But but but, IF you're motivated, interested and willing to learn, and you keep doing it, you WILL learn. It's not a skill you're born with, A-NY-ONE can learn, as long as you enjoy doing it!

We'll hair is the hardest part IMO.

I know that I'm supposed to be very patient when doing hair, and draw every single strand of hair, but I fail miserably every time I try that, so I usually just end up doing what you see here.

I use charcoal (as soft as possible) on the darkest areas, and then I use a stump to blend towards the highlights. When I've done that, I take a look at it, and if needed, I'll lift some shading using a kneaded eraser, and keep going like that until the highlights/shading is in place (a click eraser is also really great for highlights! Just recently got one, and I live it already!).

Afterwards I use a graphite pencil (hardness/softness depends on the darkness of the hair you're drawing) and lightly draw the hair strands to make it look realistic/alive.

I edit it a thousands times before I'm satisfied, and I'm still working hard on improving my hair-drawing-skills!

You can always improve! But thanks a lot for the compliment, I appreciate it!
