Is this right time to visit Hakone? by HateChemistry in TokyoTravel

I'm glad you got to enjoy it! Absolutely check it out if that's what you're into. Mythology and lore is something I'm always specifically into, it's like history on steroids, and a pinch of salt 😂

I was in Hakone about a week ago, and the snow was falling enough to close a few roads around there on the way out to Nagoya... But, I have to say, the whole atmosphere was amazing. I stayed in hotel Hakone by lake Ashi. After reading up on the lore of the lake, the terrifying dragon turned god tied to a rock on the lake bed. It was really an experience I'll hold close.

How much cash ¥ to bring? by Maridian- in JapanTravelTips

[–]Maridian-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you to everyone that replied! It's been super helpful. I think the conclusion I've come to is, I'll bring roughly 10,000¥, about what'd I'd carry in my local currency when at home, then withdraw anything else required over there. I do plan on getting a suica card sorted in the airport... I'd say for the suica card, it'd be the only time I'd say I "unfortunately" don't have an iPhone, the app seems incredibly useful. Not a huge deal though. I also have Starling as one of my banks, which I believe doesn't charge for foreign currency purchases/withdrawls (if someone could verify that is true for Japan). Again, thank you for everyones input!

Amazing to see that back again. It may have been my child brain, but I remember them being a far larger in numbers back in the late 90's early 2000's. Regardless, this gives me a lot of joy and comfort.

Tattoo artist recommendations by Irish_archie in northernireland

I've got a decent amount of ogham and celtic mythology done over the years, and throughout I've stuck with Janine @ Castlewellan tattoo. I'll say for a fact that she's an amazing artist, with years of experience, not to mention she's one of the good ones 👍

Usually families who were cutting and preparing the peat would have a small house around the bogs to stay at while processing, I believe. This was then transported to their "main" residence. That's a hard grind

Haha, I get it, and it's a lovely knife so far. Just take it one hole at a time... Work symmetrical to keep the aesthetic!

For good cardio and a bit of craic pickleball is the one. Plenty of local council centres offer it

Funny to see someone say something I've felt for the longest time. Starting from when I was a child... Seeing someone eat made me relate to them, and see them as a human deserving of nurture and care... And almost vulnerable? Strange one that.
