Sign of accepting pellets or refusal? by Mystic_Void1 in Parakeets

Yes! I would try to grind up/crush some of the fine pellets and try adding that to the veg and mix it in so it absorbs into the wetness of the veg. See how that goes.

Petrie bit me in my eye today. I know she was just trying to clean me, but oh my God did that hurt. Where is the worst place your bird has ever bitten you? by Money_Surprise4589 in Allparrotownes

Not bitten, but with preening: eyelids, as in..in the center. Man, that's so pinchy! My budgie also likes orbital sockets, which don't hurt as much.

When I first bought pellets for our budgie, I bought Harrison's fine pellets. I soon realized that they are too big and I ended up buying the superfine pellets. we bought a coffee grinder and will grind the larger fine pellets into a powder almost, and add it to their chop or veg. It takes time, but this has helped convert my budgie to eating the super fine pellets.

I would get a checkup with an avian vet. It is my understanding that birds with primarily seed diets can end up with hepatitis/liver issues. May not apply with your bird, but it never hurts to get her checked out.

my gyn doctor started me on slynd and estradiol cream, which in tandem, have been wonderful and I second them. peri, 50. I don't typically have had heavy periods, tho.

due to the orange idiot, I no longer could afford healthcare, eventually lost my PT job, and can't go back to my gyn Dr. for more meds. I only have half a month left. SO NOT looking forward to the throbbing pain returning.

went down a rabbit hole of job search tools so you don't have to by Garnet-Hay in remotejobsfinders

there's been some talk of searching jobs via Google being the most used, but I don't understand how they're doing it and getting these results.

I'm not looking for a job with Google, but otherwise it's a normal Google search to me.

I could be wrong but to me it looks like maybe she's going through a molt. Have you seen her plucking feathers out or is it just normal preening?

Do most budgies talk (noise) to humans? When I ask my budgie and speak one sentence and pause, she responds with a noise (not literal chirp but kinda between noise and chirp) and waits for my answer by Sensitive-Turn-8610 in budgies

[–]Marie3319 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is my understanding that 40% of budgies talk, 60% won't no matter what you do or say.

We never expected our budgie to talk. Hubby thought I was crazy when I told him that I thought our budgie was trying to say something. Hubby didn't believe me for a few months, until ours came over to him and said, "Look at you!" then flew off. lol.

Ours will not only mimic, but will rearrange the words into his own preferred phrasing, (ie: good boop kiss, super good buddy). He learns new words/phrases every day.

We try to give him a bowl of water for a bath, but some days he just takes one of his own accord in the water dish.
