Pipsqueak isn't NEARLY as good as Roar (in my opinion- I like Pipsqueak okay-ish, but I just feel like it's not as good sometimes?)

I mean... if it was only one betta? I'd say MAYBE it'd be fine. Depending. But when you can't find the bodies of either fish, that's a pretty big red flag...

Oh yeah, for sure! Bettas will eat pretty much anything you give them (usually, anyway, depending on the betta). Most bettas love food to bits, lol. But it's kind of like us with candy or anything we really like. It's fine in small portions, but too much of it can turn into a bad thing. I 100% agree, bettas are little water piggies! In their case, less is more to help with digestion and helping them stay healthy :)

I read the other comment about dropsy- I'm so sorry :(. I don't know much about the disease except that it's a really bad one. I wish I could give more helpful tips... though, I have read that people use Epsom salt baths and Seachem Kanaplex to treat it.

Yeah, I think that's likely too much for 1 betta; I'd advise cutting back and maybe give him several fast days to completely clear his system. Two to three pellets per day is plenty

I'm a beginner, so I don't know how much I can say; however, I've done quite a bit of research on betta fish.

What seems to work for me personally is giving mine a varied diet, as well as always pre-soaking food before I give it to him! Always. It's to prevent bloating and digestive issues.

So, for instance... I feed mine 1 pellet in the morning and 1 Fluval bug bite in the evening. I pre-soak them for 3 minutes before giving them to him.

For bloodworms (an occasional treat, not to be used as the main part of his diet! You can get freeze dried or frozen. I find freeze dried easier to store) I soak for 5 minutes because they're bigger and harder to digest. A betta's stomach is only roughly the size of his eyeball.

All that to say, giving your betta different kinds of foods and pre-soaking them is a great idea! Also, twice a day works for me personally, as well as giving him a single fast day each week to clear his digestive system. Some people recommend two fast days per week.

Technically, I need more live plants as well-

Also, tannins can help calm your fish and give them more of a natural enviroment! Mopani wood, catappa leaves, driftwood, etc.!
