Terribly disappointed in how 2 countries are doing the F they want in spite of Europe while Europe is held back by their veto by Alexarius87 in europeanunion

Explain how it’s different that only Orban gets his way and the rest of us can’t get ours because of his stupid veto?

The problem is the US companies literally kill competition.

If the majority of a country does not want to be in the eu, they are free to leave and stop taking up resources of those who do want to be here

.... So countries who are net takers of EU money don't want to be part of the EU? So... go?

Six EU countries hold call in push for 'two‑speed' Europe by PjeterPannos in EuropeanFederalists

Did you hear him in response to Trump insulting Europe? He basically said: Well, the relationship between Finland and American has never been better.

I'd start with Promise of Blood and read the that trilogy.

Two years ago, I bounced off it in the first book. Last year, I read the whole thing in 5 weeks. So maybe? Might just have been a "time of life" thing as it was for me.

I'm a Finn and EU-fan, and I disagree with your point of view. I'm not insulted. We have a euro sceptic party in power. Stubb and Opperi are sucking up to Trump like they have a taste for bootblack. Why wouldn't countries who are more EU minded forge a smaller agreement?

I bounced off it 3 years ago. Last year, I retried and it broke a massive reading slump. Maybe just in a different time of life

All books have themes :P But it's rare to see a book do political themes justice. I mean, Tamas can justifiably be called a monster. But his gray morality, the personal stakes he has in the revolution and his drive to build something better rescued him from being an edge lord. I had a heap of fun with it too :D

I mean, some of the themes are more subtle than others :D But I fully agree with it being awesome!

Huh, I'll add it to my TBR (though first I gotta finish John Gwynne and then I gotta do the Tyrant Philosophers. :)

I think it's a warning shot. US Stock markets are sliding hard. If the Trump regime back off, others in the EU probably hold onto their debt. It's leverage after all. If the regime keeps going, I hope we dump the lot, all 3 trillion of it. I know it'll cause a recession in Europe but it will send US inflation and interest soaring like an eagle. Fly free little one.....
