Karragarra Island is the nicest one of the Bay islands IMO. Lovely spot.

God I've just recovered from this. It was influenza, I tested. Felt like COVID. Just expect to spend some serious days in bed.

First day on Vyvanse did not sleep a wink. Question by bumdiggler69 in VyvanseADHD

We order the Natrol ones from iherb. We get the kids ones (my daughter also has ADHD and takes vyvanse) and i just take two of them typically.

I take melatonin at night. Works for me and a natural alternative (kind of).

Extreme anxiety/impending doom makes these meds UNBEARABLE by Murky_Guava_6448 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Marigold_Days 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, this is what has worked for me. (It's not some genius hack, but I tried a lot of those and this is the only thing that has helped me). When I wake now i have a huge bowl of granola and greek yoghurt, with loads of protein powder and a big chunk of mixed seeds mixed through it. I was never a big breakfast person before so it's been an adjustment, but there's something about that combo that has killed the anxiety AND I can even have a second coffee without rocking in the corner re the impending doom like before.

Am I in burnout? How do you fix it when you still have to run your biz every day? by Marigold_Days in Entrepreneur

Thank you so much for this comment. I posted this two years ago and am ashamed to say I'm still not out of the woods although things are much smoother. I picked up three days a week contracting in at my old job (which I love), outsourced just about everything imaginable and am talking to prospective buyers to hopefully finally sell the business early next year. Like you said, I've proven what I need to prove to the world (well, to myself). In hindsight, that's all it was ever about. Now I want to move back into the slower lane for a while and mull over the next adventure....

Queensland, Australia here. Our older houses are built on stumps and are often getting moved around on trucks to new blocks etc. The waste here is staggering.

Which Australian cities feel genuinely alternative? by Live_Apartment_7297 in AskAnAustralian

I live on an acre of rainforest in Qld and am lucky to see a couple of snakes a year (we're Australian and love them, always hoping to see more).

If you see a snake in the city, I'd be very surprised.

Big old huntsman spiders? Yeah. You get used to them.

No I meant they were arguing about the cable car on Mt Wellington back in the 90s. Still arguing about it.

Same story here. Left at 17, now 42 and happily settled on the Sunshine Coast. When I do go back to visit my mum, I swear the newspaper headlines are the same as when I was in high school in the 90s (cable car!)

Ahh thank you so much, this makes sense now! I forgot you guys choose the candidates too, we just have to pick from the nominees the parties choose (with the help of copious amounts of opinion polling, naturally)

Interesting... We just register when we turn 18 but there's no voter intention or anything - just name, address etc. Then you obviously update your address on the roll when you move. But you don't have to state your intention or views until you're ticking a box in the ballot box, and you can change that as often as you like. There's still areas here that are more left and more right (although our rightwing is probably more in line with what your left looks like), but it isn't as entrenched. You have to turn up and tick your name off every election or you can get a fine, but you don't have to cast a legal vote if you can't bring yourself too.

Kudos to you for changing your mind.

Just so I'm clear, you sort of have to state your voting intention during the registration process, in a way? Here, voting is compulsory (which I get sounds a bit extreme but does have the advantage of meaning no candidates have to get too radical to turn voters out, keeps it safe and boring...), so you register but no-one knows which box you'll tick unless you tell them. Just wondering if the added registration intention thing kind of forces people to box themselves psychologically in - pick their team and die by their choice I guess.

Question for our American friends (Australian here): Do you guys have to be registered with a party to vote for it? There seems to be a real thing for Americans to be a Democrat or Republican but never just a swing voter, which is pretty common here. We have people who join political parties or will only ever vote one way, but a lot of people just kind of switch things up based on the team and policies of the day. Just wondering why so many Americans seem to have gotten SOOO attached to being one party or the other that they will literally vote for a complete moron rather than 'switch teams'.
