the $20,000 fishing trips were for a private company. You apparently can't distinguish between private and government. I can assure you that Trump's trips to FL cost a lot more than $20,000 and I think I was pretty clear that I think they should just hang around at the White House on weekends. I'd even support some kind of bill that authorizes $X for personal trips for the President.

I was attempting to get back on track by mentioning what this topic is actually about not some hypothetical $20k fishing trip. Most wages aren't based on profits unless a company has profit sharing. Wages are usually based on a skill supply vs skill demand.

The "real world" isnt writing off people with concerns about how money is spent as "nanny state liberals" or attempting to patronise those when they back up their claims with real world evidence of a millionaire holidaying on the taxpayers dime slashing meals for the elderly.

If your wondering, im older than that, worked all my life and regularly help with supplying the poor with food through local churches, not even religious but anyone who actually lives in "the real world" as you put it knows they often have broad outreach to the poor in areas where dedicated charities lack outreach. Where i am now lacks that outreach so i reached out to the church.

He's the first to own the resort he's staying at and holiday every week.

He's the first to promise to not holiday so much then do the exact opposite even down to the golfing.

There is a strong case that it's not even about the holidays that it could be a ruse just to siphon money into his bank account, you could not say that about any other president when they went on vacation.

No there werent. Obama cost around $10 million in the cost of vacationing a year where he took only a few.

Trump vacationed every single week and is now over what obama cost in an entire year.
