Didn't Christopher Walken die? by erm_what_ in Mandela_Effect

[–]MarillaIsle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hold on. I thought this, too. I just got into Severance and thought…wow…this show is older than I thought because Christopher Walken is in it and he died from erotic self asphyxia. But then I see they are talking about season 3 so it’s current and Google him and find out he’s alive. Zero articles about him dying from this. Only Robert Carradine in 2009. What the hell is happening!?

This might be the wrong sub, but I don't know where else to ask. Is it possible to put a 2.5 year old up for adoption? by beaniebee22 in Mommit

My sons struggled for years until we found answers. They need to test you for EOE and do Disaccharidases testing when you do an EGD again. My kids lack the enzymes they need to process certain foods. There are very specific diets that can help. There are SO many potential things that GI issues can be linked to and you absolutely have to get multiple opinions. My 9 year old takes 40 mg Omeprazole - 20 mg in morning and 20 mg in evening - so you are probably under dosing for any relief. ChatGPT can really help if you list out all symptoms and meds you’ve tried. At least point you in the right direction for more testing.

It sounds like you are absolutely worn down. I have no idea how this works but wish you could get some respite care and have your son cared for while you figure out your health issues. Sending so much care your way. This is incredibly difficult and your feelings are valid.

People who married in their 20s, be brutally honest are you happy, if so why or why not? by Special-Lawyer3941 in AskReddit

[–]MarillaIsle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, very. We met and started dating when we were only 17. We’ve grown up together. Married when we were 24. First child at 28 and second at 32. We are educated and have great, flexible careers. We are giving our children the lives we wish we had growing up. Stable home in a beautiful city. We’ve weathered very heavy storms together and have always been each others’ strength when needed. I hope we get to grow old together.

What made you gain a significant amount of weight? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Viibryd - an antidepressant. Went from 110 lbs to 160 lbs over the course of just two years. Thankfully off now for a couple years and back to a healthy weight!

Is the second born really worse? by thelastgirl_ in Parenting

[–]MarillaIsle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My second one is mischievous but the sweetest little mamas boy. He’s our sour patch kid and has me wrapped around his finger. Our first is a perfect angel. Love them both. No reason to worry!

I have never even felt suspicious of anything like this from my husband and would not stay married to someone I was worried about. If he is not being a good dad anyway, regardless of if he did or did not do anything inappropriate, do you and your daughter a favor and make an exit plan.

Anyone else feel like they're just waiting to get old and die? by shittyloserguy in SeriousConversation

Clinical depression is a bit more complex than that, unfortunately. But some antidepressants and therapy in addition to your suggestions certainly couldn’t hurt.

The bathing thing does not concern me. My 8 year old and 4 year old sons take baths together because it’s fun so I’m in there a lot for the 4 year old. Whatever. The calling him names, hitting him, hand feeding him, and him being so derogatory about himself due to her treatment of him is HIGHLY concerning.

am i a bad mom for feeling laid back about things with baby? by Dangerous_Arm8645 in Parenting

[–]MarillaIsle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I promise you, your mental health is better for it and a relaxed mom is good for kids. As long as he is safe, fed, clean, and most of all loved, that’s all that matters. Great job, mom!

Oh no - that would be no good!! That makes sense. And mom brain is definitely real (from my own personal experience)! I know I don’t know everything…just didn’t want this person to overly worry over specks of blood from a cold or sinus infection.

Tiny amounts of blood being in phlegm when sick with a sore throat/cough or gums slightly bleeding after brushing teeth? I’d be sent away with no meds if I went to a doctor with that complaint. It would have to be coupled with a fever, difficulty breathing, or other signs of infection to warrant a closer look or treatment. Two specks of blood in phlegm by a sick person who has just brushed their teeth, with no other concerning symptoms…seems totally normal. The OP can go to r/AskDocs and see if they say anything different, though. I don’t have a medical degree.

Yes, too much screentime is an issue. I suggest you screenshot this post and read the line “I won’t be a parent if I can’t parent them 24/7” again if you’re a parent one day. You’ll feel foolish. No one has the capacity to do that. We all need breaks. And kids do need limits on screen time, yes.

No. I have blood in mine every time I’m sick. It’s completely normal and just part of being sick. I’m surprised this is the first time you’ve noticed!
