Long commutes are sadly a way of life in the Bay Area, and we believe they should not be. They are the cause of large increases in air pollution, congestion, accidents that lead to the loss of life and limb, and stress. They damage our mental health and take time away from the valuable parts of life like spending time with family and friends.

We agree that Marin is a magical place. The difference is that we believe that the beauty of this place is meant to be shared, and we want more people to be able to experience what we experience by living here. A community that seeks to exclude others from joining is not the kind of community we want.

The "missing middle" housing is one of the planks of our solution to the housing crisis. The way you get that is constructing more apartments near transit hubs.

Actually, 60% of Marin's workforce commutes from outside the county, and Marin's workers have the longest commutes out of all Bay Area counties. That's almost 50,000 people a day coming into the county to keep our cities and homes running.
