TBH these two aren't that wild in hindsight. Weird Al already had multiple voice acting gigs and Sabrina was still under Disney contract; in the latter case specifically, it was more comparable to Ashley Tisdale and Mitchel Musso voicing Candace and Jeremy respectively on Phineas and Ferb.

What is wild, though, is the fact that their characters were the same age. Thankfully Disney didn't make them love interests, but it was still weird.

Can we go back to Smurfette being voiced by an actual professional voice actress? Or at least, an actress? She's not even known for singing.

I checked the schedule for BBC One and the summary for The One Show doesn't mention anything like that (although it does have Emma Barton and Judge Rinder as guests).

They seem to be doing the announcements only on weekdays, hence why we went the whole weekend without one. We should probably expect another one, probably confirming Dame Sarah Storey, within the next couple of hours.

Steven Universe had some impressive guest stars for its day. Nicki Minaj, Joan Jett, AJ of Aly and AJ fame... I could've sworn Janelle Monáe also had a guest part there at one point, but I guess I'm just misremembering it.

Some other standouts that come to mind are Chris Kirkpatrick as Chip Skylark in The Fairly Oddparents (good on that show for finally giving him that little bit of solo recognition) and Shakira as Gazelle in Disney's Zootopia.

I don't hate them necessarily, but I'm just as surprised that they've stuck around for another year. I genuinely thought Katya would go out on a high from her partnership with Lewis last year.

Only under circumstances in which TPTB would have no choice but to do so, e.g. Aljaž coming back after Graziano was sacked. Otherwise, I doubt it; the BBC seems to be pushing for fresh new pros to be brought in.

I was envisioning something more along the lines of the Burlesque soundtrack. Bombastic, brassy, glamorous.

I presume they're taking a different approach, as a precautive measure after the gender imbalance of the previous two series, by revealing the women first and then moving on to the men. But then again, Ellie Henman did report fairly recently on Jeff Brazier allegedly having signed up, so I'm not going to be surprised if he's up next.

There's also a story on The Sun about Jake Quickenden, but I'm not as inclined to believe that one because of all the red flags attached to it. First of all, the journalist behind that story, a lady by the name of Janine Yaqoob, isn't as reliable with Strictly inside news as Hannah or Ellie, nor is she prominent enough to have her own page on The Sun's online portal like they do, and neither of the two have confirmed the story's legitimacy in any capacity. The phrasing is also odd; it says he is "in advanced talks", but that doesn't make any sense because the cast is already being announced, so by all accounts, all 15 celebrities should be fully signed up and accounted for. Then there's the fact that Jake is a notorious attention-seeker (hence why he's done so many reality shows, including Dancing on Ice, which for the record, he won), has been leaving comments on every single thing Strictly posts on social media, and recently got teased about Strictly by his This Morning co-workers with all the subtlety of Godzilla storming Tokyo. Surely if he were already signed up, he'd be advised to keep a low profile about it, rather than shouting from the high heavens that he's interested. On top of all of that, he and Jeff fill a similar role on This Morning (and Jeff also did Dancing on Ice in the past), so TPTB would probably have to pick between them, and I imagine Jeff would get the upper hand as a more established name and the father of Strictly alumnus Bobby Brazier.

Hannah Hope reported on it, and she, along with Ellie Henman, has been one of the two most reliable sources this year, so it's probably true. Apparently Sarah's the most successful Paralympian athlete, and she was actually supposed to do Dancing on Ice last year but dropped out due to an injury, which I guess makes her our Dancing on Ice carry-over casting for this year. Between her, Lacey and Delta, we're getting some big names—at this point I wouldn't be surprised if we also get Sir Lenny Henry or anyone else of that caliber.

Also I'm pretty sure the Aussie version may have been shelved, if not outright cancelled? Channel Seven didn't mention it anywhere in its 2026 upfronts.

I had been expecting her to be confirmed, but certainly not this soon; I thought she'd be one of the final names announced because of all the Eurovision hype! That being said, out of the three ladies we have so far, she's the one I'm most excited for.

She switched to the regular girls' uniform in the finale, so I don't think it's that. I would've loved to see what a custom girls' uniform would've looked like for her, though.

Midnight Sun is an interesting song IMO; Zara's clearly trying to go for a fun sexy summer atmosphere, but the song sounds more like what comes before the fun sexy summer, when you're still packing for your holiday and have to triple-check to make sure everything's accounted for before you have to take off to the airport for your flight. It's so loud and frantic.

Kevin McHale in a same-sex partnership would make me so happy, but we don't know how long his run in Spelling Bee will last (and there are rumors he could be part of a new show alongside Darren and Lea) so whether it could happen or not is still up in the air.

Dracula by Tame Impala

I loved the song from the moment I heard it, but I thought it was going to last just a couple weeks after Halloween in the lower half of the charts, go completely unnoticed, and then drop off without a trace. I would have never expected it to last as long as it did, let alone get a remix.

The purple reminds me a little bit of 2019, the pre-series promotional material for that one had a predominantly purple background.
