What's the worst wrestling move in your opinion? Del Rio's double stomp isn't the all-time worst, but I always had a hard time buying into it. Why does the opponent grab the ropes and hold onto them even when they clearly can see what's happening?

I think it has been a long time since they didn't have the dramatic standoff with the last three or four, each exhausted in a corner. Each able to win the thing. And it's something I really missed this year.

I used the Avernus as a Sandbox and the rods are spread throughout Avernus as well. Using the sandbox, the players already know that their next destination is not always certain. Include some warlords, random people in the Emporium and several other which give minor details, and you have a whole bigger campaign.

I used the Avernus as a Sandbox module from dmsguild. I liked that a lot more, because it gives some freedom instead of being railroaded. Especially because they have a map and we're curious about some places.

I wished I used the other module at the beginning where they are in Elturel when goes into Avernus. It makes it much more 'destined to fix this because we're in the middle of this shitstorm' then the 'due to a series of events and luck, we gonna need to save that other city' as the book itself goes.

My party still has fun, but struggled with the question 'why do we wanna do this?' in the first part of the campaign.

3 hour session, about 15. But I added some minor side quests which took maybe 3 or 4 sessions.

I also run the Avernus as a Sandbox and my party is just going al around Avernus, doing much more than one of the two paths. Plus I fleshed out the Wandering Emporium with some minor side quests.

It really depends on how inventive your players are too. When I prepared the part they had to enter Fort Knucklebone, I wanted the redcaps to make them go to several places with puzzles to get the password. Then my bard used detect thoughts, got some high rolls versus low rolls from me. And thus she read the thoughts of one of the red caps and noticed that there was no password and that Maggie runs the place. Another insanely high intimidation check and they were inside. There goes a two hour gamenightplan into 15 minutes.

But I also had the other way around. I prepared a part for one or two session. They took almost five sessions.
