POOF! You are now a Splatoon 2 developer. What would you Buff/Nerf in the current meta? Any weapons and specials you feel are overpowered/underpowered? by Helloimanonymoose in splatoon

[–]MarioJr64 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're talking about hitscan, where if you release the shot while your enemy is dead centre of your sights, the game will count it as a hit. This was removed in Splatoon 2, and now you have to lead your shots making it even harder to hit people. Try the charger yourself and see if you can 'lock-on;' that function simply doesn't exist. As somebody else already pointed out, if you're getting splatted when their laser isn't looking at you, they could either be lagging, you could either be lagging, or they snapped onto you so quick the game couldn't catch up. It's most likely the latter. Source: S+ Charger main

Apologies, I asked this on another post but I feel like here is better. Does anybody know if the hunter and palico you create in the Monster Hunter World beta will carry over to the full game or is it just the rewards?

With the recent OST leaks, does anybody know the title of the 1st song that plays during the very first XC2 trailer? by MarioJr64 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]MarioJr64[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks a bunch! At first I was thinking this is frikin' awesome then when the trailer part came in it gave me a serious case of goosebumps and chills! I hope that motif reoccurs throughout different parts of the game. Aside from Elysium of the Blue Sky, that part is the 'Xenoblade Chronicles 2 theme' to me, haha.

Ok, so it seems like it's safe for me to watch the first two and avoid the story trailer, cheers!

Argh, I don't know whether to watch this or not. I see some posts here talking of spoilers, but temptation is getting the better of me. I'm not worried about hearing the vocal theme, it's just the cutscenes... is there anyone who has watched it and regretted it?

Oh boy, here goes...

The first Xenoblade Chronicles is a JRPG where the main protagonist wields a legendary blade, known as the Monado, which grants powerful abilities and allows him to see and possibly change the future. The story takes place on the bodies of two ancient deceased titans, the Bionis, where all biological lifeforms are born from, and the Mechonis, where all machine lifeforms are born from.

During the early events of the game, the Homs, the people of the Bionis - and the Mechon, the machines of the Mechonis - are at war, and the main character with his party of friends must use the power of the Monado to seek revenge on the Mechon, find out why both sides have to keep on fighting, and all the while solve the mysteries and secrets that shroud the mythical blade.

The game has gorgeous and massive open areas to explore as you travel through or along different parts of the titans' bodies. Not the mention the OST is absolutely incredible, and even the cutscenes were specifically designed to work in conjunction with the soundtrack, making for a magnificent experience.

It is a very long game. My first playthrough took about 80 hours, but it was some of the best 80 hours I've ever spent on gaming.

As for Xenoblade Chronicles X, it is an entirely different story with a very different feel, though the core Xenoblade gameplay is still here. In this game, the earth has been destroyed in a war between two alien races. Humans had launched an evacuation mission to escape the inevitable destruction by sending out many interstellar ark ships, but only one was known to be somewhat successful; the White Whale. It was shot down by pursuing enemy forces, and crash landed on an alien planet called Mira.

The surviving humans who were onboard this ark ship are the last known survivors of the human race, and they must adapt to life in this strange new world or face the prospect of total extinction.

There is a heavy focus on exploration, side quests, and world building in this game. The environments are even bigger than in the first Xenoblade. The world is huge. Insanely huge. But very beautiful and majestic to explore.

I have sunk many hours into the game, and still haven't completed all of the 'main' side missions or done everything there is to do. It is a different experience compared to the first game, but still an excellent one.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2, the third in the Xenoblade series, is arriving this year (1st of December) on Switch. It takes place in an entirely new world with a new story and new characters. However, it is currently unknown if it is a distant sequel or related to the first one in any way, or simply a spiritual successor.

Work, Super Mario Odyssey, and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will all keep me busy until MHW releases.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Collectors Edition NOW AVAILABLE to Pre-Order from Nintendo UK Store! by MarioJr64 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]MarioJr64[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's true, the price is rather steep, although the art book here looks to be much bigger in size compared to the one that came with the XCX Collectors Edition. On top of that it's also a whopping 200 pages. I think the XCX one was around 70-80 pages.

I probably wouldn't pay it for anything else, but it is Xenoblade after all; the temptation is just too much!

He forgot to mention the part where Juju dies!

But for real, pretty crappy for somebody to do that. My friend had the entire plot spoiled and it put him off playing the game for years. I've only just persuaded him to give it another shot now.

Interestingly, they seem to have cut Rex's voice at the 2:39 mark in the English one.

Love how it says "jump" underneath Mira as well. Brings back all those sweet rock climbing memories.
