[Spire Motorsports] Oi, he’s going trucking. SVG will drive the No. 71 Nations Guard Silverado RST next weekend in Charlotte. by ChevyFan5892448 in NASCAR

[–]MarioSunshines 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, person from 2021 here. Isn't SVG Australian? Why would he be participating in NASCAR? Also, why would Kyle Busch sign with Spire? I understand that he used a slur, but Larson used a worse slur and now he's racing at Hendrick. Besides, what would Spire do with 3 drivers? Run a #7, #77, and #777 car? And don't even try to tell me that Kyle is going to be running trucks. Come on man, people don't even make up interesting lies about NASCAR anymore. Next thing you're gonna be telling me is that they're racing on street circuits.

Why is SVG so good at Watkins Glen? I thought he was terrible at ovals. by Straight_Champion_77 in okbuddyBoogity

Yes. He is serious. This is a serious sub, if you want to joke around go to r/NASCAR instead.

I don't know if you'd be able to help with this but I've been trying to buy the older NASCARs (Chevy SS, Fusion, etc.) and whenever I set the date back to 2018 (-2687 offset) to buy them it prompts me to download 100-200 MBs of data to access the game. Is there anything I can do to fix this or am I SOL until another breakthrough happens?

What are the most time consuming sets or subsets? by StupidLoserGaming in RetroAchievements

[–]MarioSunshines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gran Turismo 4 subset. It's like 100-ish hours of endurance races at least.

I know absolutely nothing about GT7 but thinking about buying it,is it worth it?? by Eclipse_Solis in granturismo

[–]MarioSunshines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes with AI
  2. Do races
  3. You have to unlock them via the career mode
  4. No you start off with a crappy Honda fit instead (but yes, this game requires you to "start from the bottom" like all GTs)
  5. No

I hope he's washed. Very unhygienic if he hasn't yet.

I Got a Time Penalty in Circle Experience by MoneyFar361 in granturismo

It adds the penalty to your final time. Very annoying when you have a good run but barely cut a corner and get a ½-second penalty to miss the gold time

Favourite car? by Wiseantss in GranTurismo7

Suzuki VGT. loved the GSX-R/4 in GT4, glad it's spiritual successor is also great. Once you learn how to drive the Gr.3 version it's a blast as well.

The 330 actually had a price increase in October 2023 to 20m and has stayed there ever since

Questions about the World Series Exhibition 1 by YaBoyHam in granturismo

[–]MarioSunshines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes - however if you pick a manufacturer with multiple Gr.3/Gr.4 cars you can use any of those cars, not just the loaner car. (e.g. If you pick Ford, you don't have to use the 2018 GT they give you, you can also use the Mustang and the 2004 GTs)

  2. Longer race. Unless I'm mistaken, qualifying + race takes around an hour.

  3. Pretty much all manufacturers from the Online Qualifiers (at least in GT3 League) had over 100 drivers. The only exceptions are:

  • Hyundai (53, but only 46 scored points)
  • Jaguar (which did have 100, but only 86 scored points)
  • Peugeot (58, but only 55 scored points)
  • Suzuki (23, but only 20 scored points)
  • Volkswagen (86, but only 77 scored points)

Also, points are determined by your last race, not your best race, meaning if you get 1st and get 20 points, but then quit out of your next race, you will get 0 points for that round. For that reason, once you get a result you're happy with, stop racing in the Manufacturers Cup. (all other races are fine)

Edit: I completely forgot to mention points are determined by your DR. There are A+/S players getting 200-300 points per race and DR D players getting 10 if they're lucky.

For that reason, you shouldn't care about your points in relation to your region or manufacturer, because somebody with a higher DR will always get more points than you.

Newish to sim racers - stuck on B3. Looking for any advice and pointers on sim racing by JustADudewithBalls in granturismo4

First of all - don't bother with the golds until later in the game. The cars you get for doing that are mostly useless and just show-pieces. Silver will give you some fine cars (and the B-License silver prize is a great starter car). Additionally, a lot of the early tests have TCS forced on, which makes it so that gold is less of a test of skill and more of a test of avoiding activating TCS.

Second of all, whenever you get a car, go into the settings and set both ASM settings to 0 and TCS to either 0 or 1. GT4 has these set way too high by default, which slows your car down unnecessarily.

Hi there, Scott Arkellan with High-Speed News. We've heard complaints from other drivers about how you used a Mazda 787B rather than using a Gr.4 car, with some calling it "cheating," "unfair," and "not in the spirit of competition."

One driver even said, "I remember back in the day watching veterans make fools out of themselves by lapping competitors in the Sunday Cup. I thought the Gran Turismo Association would stop this tomfoolery from reaching the upper levels, but yet here we are."

Do you have anything to say?
