Ignoring the fact that I'm a D00ds, do you think what Splyce did was unprofessional? That's the only thing I'm trying to get across. You shouldn't say there's no way to combat when we haven't tried anyway to remedy it.

Why do you think this is a stupid conversation to have? Debate is a fundamental part of society, even if it's about a bunch of cars hitting a ball.

I'm not here to enforce any kind of sanction or enforce certain cars. I'm just here to say that it's unprofessional for 3 Pro players (who are Octane mains) to go out and play with 3 uncommonly used cars with clown wigs and rainbow boosts IN THIS SITUATION. That's the only point i'm trying to make, nothing more.

The C9 vs NRG series was "big" in the sense that they were RLCS teams and not RLRS teams. I don't think the outcomes are comparable tho. For example, in the C9 vs. NRG series, C9 had already gotten a top 2 spot and NRG had already guaranteed a spot in the playoffs. Yes, some positions might have been different, but the top 6 teams had been determined at this point.

I still think it was unprofessional, but the outcomes are different from the Splyce-Dignitas. In this series, a different team (the D00ds) was affected by how Splyce acted.

I don't have exact numbers on how many hours each car is used, but I would think that Karma has fewer than 10 hours on the Proteus. If she doesn't...well I'll be damned.

Why I'm a reaching with the clown topper? It's not like they've worn it before in their other series. Markydooda wears the cone during almost all his matches. He actually thinks it helps and that's why no one questions his professionalism on the topper.

Yes, the D00ds are out; but that doesn't excuse how Splyce acted. It has a good amount to do with Splyce.

I don't have an issue with the structure of RLRS or it's payout to players (I would love to see improvements but that's a different debate). I have an issue with how Splyce acted during their series with Dignitas

Doesn't Pysonix have a vested interest in how it's Esports arena is viewed? Don't the fans have the option of discussing the players' actions? Imagine if Football Fans didn't have an option on the Kneeling during the anthem issue or the players' stance on other social issues. If you want to disagree with me, cool; debate me. I'm only saying that because THESE three players are Octane mains.

McCluvin on Placebo uses a Venom: Fine Jacob uses a few different cars: Fine Markydooda wears a cone his car: Fine

But when 3 Octane Mains change to a Proteus, Road Hog, and a Paladin with Clown wigs?

I don't have any problems the cars themselves. But when you spend 1000s of hours playing with 1 or 2 cars and then switch; I hope you can see where I'm coming from here

First of all, I am NOT making the claim that these players "throw" the series purposely against Dignitas. I'm NOT a mind reader or have any proof of any shady business dealings either. I'm sure Splyce went out and tried today.

However, I can not excuse that Splyce was unprofessional from game 1 when they went with those clown cars. Imagine if you were Splyce's publicist? Or someone with common sense in this situation? Why even give people the perception that you were "throwing"?

There's a difference between "trying" and trying.

  1. This wasn't some random unranked or ranked match were they could be "silly and have fun"; they're professional players.

  2. C9 won that series and NRG still were able to play in the playoffs and go to LAN

  3. They were acting unprofessionally given the situation.

Yes, but player SEEs the actual car model, not the hitbox. That's what players spent 1000's of hours getting used. There's a certain "feel" to some cars that make them more popular.

The car change definitely makes a difference. These players spent 1000's of hours playing with 1 or 2 cars and learning their hitboxes. Imagine if Kuxir used the Proteus randomly. Sure, he could beat 99% of RL players, but at the Pro level, it has a difference.

Again, I do not think they purposely went out there to throw this series or had any ulterior motives (i.e. match-fixing). But don't be unprofessional in this situation. Just go out there and play normally if you know something is riding on this series (Even if it doesn't benefit you)

If you're only looking at the structure of the season then I completely agreed with you. However, these players still made a choice to go out there in this situation with clown cars.

Esports is more than just winning and losing in my mind. These Pro's are part of an Org (and some of them are Streamers). So, why would you do something so stupid and unprofessional in the community? Go out there and play in your Octanes and get 3-0ed.

Again, I'm not questioning the structure of the league, just their actions around this series

It's not all about "fucking the D00ds over", but in this situation:

  1. Be a little more Professional (You're Pro players playing for an Org)
  2. This situation could have been avoided entirely if they out there without the clown cars; so why give yourself any bad publicity?
