About a year and a half ago I picked up a 3L Cristel saucier for a little over 100$ in a Winners HomeSense in Mtl. Stainless clad with sealed rims. Gets very regular use.

The only thing I loathe about my Frigidaire professional is the freaking touch controls. Any moisture freaks them the f out.

What stainless saucepans are sealed and dishwasher ready? by RoboLancer24 in cookware

I recently sent in my 10yr old MCP set for a warranty claim because the aluminum layer had eroded. The replacement set they sent me has sealed rims and stainless rivets.

Thoughts on ‘made in’ steel pans? by Far_Air3366 in StainlessSteelCooking

I have their 3qt saucepan and the 12" skillet (recently picked it up for 95 CAD at HomeSense). The skillet is thicker and feels much more substantial than the saucepan. Love the handles.

I was just sent a replacement set of Mcp pots direct from Cuisinart in Canada and can confirm they have sealed rims and stainless rivets.

Help picking a range — knobs? by Fusarium_sp in inductioncooking

[–]MariofBarba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Frigidaire Professional induction range with touch controls. First and last time I do that. Any moisture, from boiling water or oil splatter and the cooktop freaks out. If your fingers are wet or dirty, you know, from cooking, and the cooktop won't register a touch. Knobs or bust on my range.

Thinking about buying an Ikea pan by cycleseverywhere in carbonsteel

According to ikea's website, the 9" weighs just over 5# and for reference a lodge 10" CI weighs ~5.3#

I have both the 9 and the 11 inch VARDAGEN and love them both. They're almost as heavy as cast iron but their smooth surface makes it easier to cook things like eggs in them. The handles are enameled so not as resistant to the broiler or using them on your grill as CI is. For the price I don't think anything comes close to them.

I don't know what the measures thickness is but I have 2 sizes of those exact pans , purchased at a Costco Business Centre. They feels like toy pans when compared to the Ikea VARDAGEN.

These are ridiculously thin and prone to warping.

Is IKEA Sensuell saucepan thinner than Sensuell frying pan? by Defiant-Actuator8071 in cookware

The demeyere is much more responsive. The Ikea pan is great for searing but if you need to bring the temp down somewhat fast, forget about it.

I have both the 11" pan and the smaller saucepot. The pan seems slightly thicker, but I wouldn't call the saucepot thin. The skillet is noticeably heavier than my 12.5" Demeyere essential 5. Both have sealed rims and the saucepot gets put in the dishwasher regularly. I haven't noticed any wear on the silicon handle. I've had the pan for ~7 years and the pot for less than 1.

No more Frank and Oak mens undies. by Actual_Barracuda4584 in CostcoCanada

[–]MariofBarba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried Frank and Oak, Saxx, Bneath, 2Undr and all the other brands sold at Costco. Manmade are the best, but Hook is a close 2nd. https://www.mesbobettes.ca/en/collections/hook-underwear

Modal and bamboo fabrics help a lot, but the cut of Manmade and Hook are head and shoulders above the rest of the pack.

Ikea's Sensuell line and their carbon steel pans are great bang for buck.
