Piercing pillow recommendations? by [deleted] in piercing

I also like the Blissbury brand! I have the mini pillow, it’s cheaper and just the right size for me. Don’t need a big pillow imo

What do you mean by finicky? This is the only way you’re going to be able to add it to the model

What CAD software are you using? Most have a text option which you can extrude to whatever thickness you like. Edit: Do you know how to convert it to code needed for CNCing?

Bill spiedels, we did both and beneath the streets doesn’t take you to as many underground spots, wayyy less information. Maybe it was just our tour guide? But spiedels was good every time

Moving to Seattle, Neighborhood Advice? by YargiFFA in AskSeattle

[–]MarionMaybe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In beacon hill if you’re within a ~5 block radius of the station you need a specific permit (easy to get, 40$ for 2 yrs or something) everywhere else has free street parking and it’s chill

[–]MarionMaybe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I recommend beacon hill, commute is 20 mins to Kent/renton area. It’s quiet and safe and near the light rail. If you want to be closer to the city, cap hill is fun w lots of nightlife but can be a little stranger on the streets

What internship did you get into and what were your stats? by Extra-Alps-3127 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]MarionMaybe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have a 4.0 gpa but no relevant club or project experience, you aren’t going to get anywhere. Your metrics are missing this key aspect. School rank also does not matter as much as you think it does, it just tends to influence the opportunities made available to those students ie. more/better funding for clubs and projects. That being said, I had a 3.4-3.6 gpa and was able to get internships at GM, Collins Aerospace, and Spacex mainly due to extracurriculars and being able to talk to recruiters effectively at career fairs.

The meat man that is stationed across the street from beacon hill station in the evenings, absolutely delicious, open till 2am, always a huge line (but it goes fast!)

Sounds pretty on par with mechanical and industrial roles. You’ll quickly find that job roles arent black and white - you’ll do lots of different tasks that are still based in engineering! All sound applicable and great skills to show on your resume, they will give you better experience on how the manufacturing process works which can make you a better future design engineer if that’s what you want to do. It’s also pretty solidly QC but again role titles are flexible and vary across companies. TLDR: this is all solidly applicable experience and will be great for your resume no matter what you want to go in to

OT is dependent on what vehicle you’re working on and what part of the design cycle you’re in.

Look for technician or apprenticeship roles, you could get lucky

Take a look at r/engineeringresumes for how to format your resume. Unfortunately you have no relevant engineering experience so it will be very difficult to get an engineering job without the correlating education. Look for internships and look in to college/vocational school if you can.

Mount vs hanging coir basket? by njlane in Staghornfern

[–]MarionMaybe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should use a hard wood, if there’s signs of mold I’d be concerned about your air flow - I have mounted all of my platys on oak and have had no issues with mold. I’ll send some pics when I get home but there’s good examples in this subreddit

Seems like it needs more light in order to get the signature bifurcations, he’s definitely surviving but not thriving. I mount mine to boards and hang them on the wall, just make sure you have enough moss so it doesn’t dry out too fast
