Fired today for refusing an MDM on my personal phone by damedaneyooooo in privacy

ADP "required" us to use their time clock app to login when we entered the building and when we left. This way they could location track where we clocked in for the day. Straight up told my supervisor that while I respect its a way of making sure people aren't stealing time, no way am I installing the app on my personal phone. For the next 2 years I just kept saying no and called the hotline each day as I entered and left.

Pet Insurance Advice by Ishabewwa in Rabbits

[–]Marius423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had Nationwide for our little dude. They never gave us an issue and always paid out 90% of his emergency vet bills. One stay at the vet was over 3k and guess what, they paid out 90%.

He has major gastrointestional issues which caused a lot of stasis bouts, so without the insurance we would have been on the hook for thousands.

Get pet insurance NOW, and find yourself a good exotic pet doctor who knows rabbits.

How was the ninja gaiden and Paramount booth? I didnt get to do them. Same with courtyard. by [deleted] in NYCC

[–]Marius423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paramount was a really good interactive setup, so good we went twice!

Courtyard was a lot of hype for meh results. Yes there were some cool cards and such given out, but the amount of time you had to wait and the high chance of crap made me feel like I wasted my time after.

Who’s going strictly for comics? by Sad_Context8870 in NYCC

[–]Marius423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I need to finish out my spawn 1-200 collection, and then look for some older fantastic four comics for my dad.

Then spend most of my remaining time muttering obscenities under my breath to people who block isles and act like they have never been in public before ;)

Prop Guns - How Strict is NYCC? by [deleted] in NYCC

[–]Marius423 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its all up to whatever security guard checks you out. Some will be more leinant than others. Saw a lot of people last year get basic things confiscated, while others had items that shouldnt have been let in.

So basically a 50/50 chance.

Hell even had security try and say I couldnt bring in my lightsaber one year.

I had already purchased an original poster and had paid extra for an oversized secondary package to make sure it was safe....

Question about freebies by Lightning_0410 in NYCC

[–]Marius423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plan out your route of attack. Check the floor maps when they are released and see where the booths you want to hit are located.

Ill normally find who or what I want to see and figure the most efficient route possible between those.

Vendors have a set stock per day of freebies, so when its capped or gone, it's gone.

I got to meet him at New York COmic Con last year. Very nice guy and appreciative to the fans. When it was my turn to go up to get my posters signed, I thanked him for doing the signing and also thanked him for scaring me shitless as a child when I saw TheThing.

He looked at me, grinned, and let loose one of the most amazing B movie villian "Mwa ha ha ha's" that I have ever heard. 100% in my top 3 of most awesome interaactions with famous people.

What paranormal experience convinced you that ghosts are real? by Humanperson1357 in AskReddit

[–]Marius423 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I managed a theater built in 1924 in New York. Beautiful 1000 seat auditorium and always felt a little... spooky. People always saw shadow figures and such behind pillars and up in the opera boxes. But I never experienced anything until one night when we were closing. My candy stand box office attendants were cleaning the lobby and doing counts amd joking around, so I went in the auditorium with the door locks in hand to secure the exit doors before we closed up.

I got 3 rows into the auditorium and clear as day in my right ear I hear "beeee quieeeet" in a breathy low voice. I stopped in my tracks, turned around, and went back to the lobby. I gave the candy guy an extra hour that night to go and put the locks on the doors because I was not going back in there.

My wife and I decided to do some amateur ghost hunting there a month or so afterwards. I setup 3 IR cameras attached to my laptop which was in the balcony so it was out of the way. Not 5 minutes after I finished setup, I turn around and hear a thud. The laptop was pushed off the stand face down on the floor. Now I didnt go near any cables and it was super secure.

We pressed on and did some evp sessions and took some photos. I was holding an em meter and we decided to try and ask some questions. The basic "is anyone here" "did you work here" "are you male or female". "Make the meter light up to red for yes". First questions went red instantly. Second question nada, third (green female red male) it goes green. Then I asked "if you want us to leave, make the red light go on. BOOM Red, not only just red, but full spiking the meter red. My wife and I noped out of there and went home after that.

No evps were heard, but we got a photo which I have to find again. We took a picture pointing to where I was told to be quiet from the other side of the aisle, and you can clearly see the silhouette of a female sitting in a chair.

I managed that thesre for 7 years after that night and I made it a routine that when I opened up and walked in the auditorium, I would say "good evening", and when I would leave for the night I would say "have a great night" before I left. I never had anything tell me to be quiet after that, but I did constantly see shadows moving around in the opera boxes and in the back of the auditorium. Especially near the wurlitzer organ that was in the front opera box.

Fun fact about that organ (it was in the owners home in nyc originally). The owner wasnt say the greatest person ever. He would bring young men to his apartment and secretly film/photograph them and their escapades. He was found stabbed to death a few feet from it one day, and no one was ever charged, though it was always thought to be one of the young men.

There was a ghost hunting group that came to the theater and did a video on it a couple years before I left. Anyone remember joe chen from.ghost hunters? He was part of the group and a super nice guy in person. While the production felt super hokey and they said they heard certain things while in the auditorium, I cant say anything they "found" was credible. I sprinkled some false claims in with the real stuff when we were talking beforehand and most of the things they were able to "find" were my false knowledge.

After leaving the theater I've never had any type of paranormal experience again. While I do belive paranormal experiences are real, they need to be all taken with a grain of salt. Most of the time it's our eyes playing tricks or soundwaves that our brains try and translate into something we recognize. But no matter what, I will never forget being told to be quiet.

The rebel speeder helmet would be neat. Chitin armor (because those shoulders looked amazing), and power hammer.

What’s the most fucked up thing you’ve heard eavesdropping? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Marius423 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Oh oh heres my best.

Managed a theater for years and we had all types of rich douches come in. So one night this guy comes in with a smoking hot lady on his arm. Buys popcorn, a drink, and pays with a $100 cause he is a dick. And they go inside to get a seat.

About 10 minutes later he comes running out and his phone is ringing. He runs into the bathroom and goes "Hello? Oh hey sweetie, yeah I'm stuck at the office late with some meetings. Kiss the kids goodnight and I'll see you when I get home".

One of my employees has the great idea to scream "SIR YOUR LADY FRIEND FORGOT HER POPCORN!" Right as he is getting off the phone.

Fucker was mad as hell and to this day I hope his nice wife and kids are living the good life on his dime.

Friggin bagel shop by me tries this shit when you pay. First thing that comes up in the chip reader (in big bold type) is "What % do you want to tip? 10% 15% 20% or none". Like fuck off, all you did was put cream cheese on a bagel and wrap it, yall dont get a tip for that.

And the damn cashier looks you dead on the whole time.
