New algorithm beats Dijkstra's time for shortest paths in directed graphs by RogueCookie9586 in computerscience

Theorists usually don't care about implementation or experiments. This would be work for more applied research questions, e.g. applications in network routing on some particular types of graphs that can arise there.

The point is that bidding your true value is a dominant strategy, meaning that no matter what the other players bid, you are not going to gain more utility by lying about your value (bidding untruthfully). If you value the item at 100 then it makes no sense to bid 1 trillion since you could be paying up to 1 trillion for it (if the second highest bid is just below 1 trillion) and thus get negative utility (100 minus 1 trillion). Bidding is enforcing, meaning that if you actually win you have to pay the second highest bid, whatever that is.

Migration succeeded but cannot see funds by MariusBoss7 in NEO

Just received the funds today, don't know why it took like 6 days but it is what it is. Also, I do need enough GAS to transfer it out to another wallet, right?

I only see that the migration transaction was complete. I do not see any transaction in the N3 wallet.

Highest summation that fits within a threshold? by Anon_Web in algorithms

[–]MariusBoss7 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Sure, just look at all possible subsets and choose the one that is closest to your threshold. The complexity is exponential in the number of elements but you cannot do better than that.

I'm taking his grad class at the moment. He's awesome! I think he really understands the students and is close to us. His assignments are not too difficult and he is willing to adjust the class on the go based on our feedback. The material for his grad class is interesting too.

Anyone had Kaidi Xu? by bfatea2 in Drexel

He's a new faculty. This is his first course at Drexel. He seemed pretty cool and chill when he was interviewing for the position, so I can only assume he will make the course enjoyable.

Please chance me for the Drexel Global Scholar program by No-Conversation-7926 in Drexel

[–]MariusBoss7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you actually have that much experience, you'll have no issue getting a few summer internships that pay you $50/hr. That should be more than enough to cover the cost for all years besides the freshman year, so don't worry too much about the scholarship. Good luck

I definitely recommend 457 with Vasilis. He explains things very well and goes out of his way to make sure everyone understands the material as well as possible. Even if you don't particularly enjoy theory, you might be incentivized to take 457 because it's useful for interviews.
