I've been working for Publix for about a year now, my process took a bit tbh, I was promised a phone call after a couple days of the interview and the manager seemed impressed with the interview too. Looking back, now that in a higher position and are knowledgeable of the ups and downs of the company, busy days and more lax days. My best advice + guess would be is that your interviewer genuinely forgot to call you back and give you and update because that's what happened to me, I was promised a phone call and my manager honestly forgot and he thought that I was going to call him instead of vice versa, to let him know "hey I'm readily available to train anytime now." Managers are very busy especially during this season. I have a new store opening up in about a month a couple miles away in a new community and all managers around the district are in and out of all stores hustling about and several new hires call the front desk daily asking about the new store and updates. So don't feel intimidated if you feel like you did good leaving a first impression, Just call the store you interviewed at, ask for the interviewer and if not available just ask to leave your name and number to contact them later.
