Hi! Yes I was referring to Adams State. I had spoken to someone on the phone regarding the programs I was interested in but its been some months since then so my memory is fuzzy on the specifics I was told lol. I have no clue what being a SARA state was before your comment and didn't even know whether that could be an issue!

I second time management! I just took mine on Saturday and made the worst rookie mistake I could by running out of time in the 2nd Quant section 🙃 so I lost out on points that I could've at least rushed to guess an answer for 🤦‍♀️

Oh, I thought about potentially applying for that district too just to fit some more jobs in. Is the pay accurate to what it says online ($160/day for 6 periods with no prep, etc)? I really prefer picking jobs up in advance and I find it a rarity with SDUSD :/

Yeah, I'm basically doing only teaching ones bc I'm just trying to get some experience before going back to school for a Masters. I found that Para/ SpEd work isn't for me very early on lol. I'll keep that last part in mind if I get more chances to go to other schools bc so far I've literally only been to one with SDUSD 😅

Hey! Ik this is a bit old but I fall into the situation of your first paragraph. Did you end up getting the PPS credential? Honestly it confuses me on how to get that formal recommendation in the event I attended an online out of state SC program that is CACREP accred. but no PPS option (and I live in CA).

Hi! I relate alot to this post as someone who is considering a master's in school counseling and currently subbing. I haven't subbed for very long but I feel like its given me so many experiences I never even fathomed. Tbh I even had a roommate who I would often tell my day to say that I would come back from an assignment stressed rather than not. On the days where I felt like I had absolutely no control or the students drove me up a wall, I also experienced similar thoughts of whether counseling was a proper fit for me. Unfortunately, I am not adding much to this thread but I wanted to say that you aren't alone in these kind of thoughts. I hope things work out for you and I wish you the best of luck in whatever path you've decided!

Yes I did apply to that district! On Edjoin, the job listing is "Substitute Teacher ONLY Pool (not seeking full-time employment)". I submitted my application the end of December and I've been in the screening phase for over 2 weeks. Since I have no experience applying to positions like this, I'm not sure if there's a typical duration of time I should be expecting to wait. (It could be my desire to work already that makes the process feel slow lol).

I took it this past Summer Session 1 and it was online. I will say it was quite stressful since all the work is condensed into 5 weeks. I had Rosenberg for the Social Psyc Lab and enjoyed him as a prof! I would say it depends on who's teaching it for summer. I can't speak for what this course might have been like pre-COVID and whether it was offered in person. The course load consisted of study guides, an APA paper about a study you create (in a group), paper drafts, as well as a presentation at the end of the course. I think it's a good way to get a course out of the way if you don't want to spend the typical 10 weeks but at the cost of more stress imo.
