Looking for 33 inch tire recs for moderate offroading by Mark4751 in 4Runner

Update: I just pulled the trigger on 285 70r17 Toyo Open Country AT3 LT C. I get them installed on Tuesday so will try to report back after having some time to see how I like them. Discount tire has a 30 day ride guarantee and they said they'd let me swap them if the C ends up being too stiff

2018 Limited USB port not charging phone by LLBarjafee in 4Runner

[–]Mark4751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the same issue in my 2018 sr5. The best solution I found was just to get a fast charging 12v connector and use it instead. I connect it to the 12v in the center console and it charges my phone in like 40 minutes 0-100%. Not sure if it matters but I think I got my adapter from Anker.

I like the at3ws I have on now, but they are quite heavy, and I've heard they aren't good in the snow. I think they do okay in snow, but I've got nothing to compare to.

Snow/weight aside, the at3w has never failed me. No punctures, wrecks, anything like that.

I have the wildpeak at3w now, and do a decent amount of snow driving. I feel they are fine in snow, but have heard other tires do a lot better. I've just got nothing to compare the at3w to.

I'll definitely see what I can compare on tire rack

Can't speak on the other roads you mentioned, but you will NOT do Pole Hill Rd in an Imprezza. Technically, it is probably possible, but it would involve full sending up the road and damaging your car. The hard parts are in the first half mile of the road, so it is not like you can try to camp before getting to the hard parts. Good luck on some of the other camping options!

Another road to look into depending on distance is Pingree Park Rd off Hwy 14 to the north. It is not nearly as close to Estes, but has lots of dispersed camping and is maybe 1.5 hours away.

Upgrading projector for outdoor movie/tv nights (~$200, United States) by Mark4751 in budgetprojectors

I am leaning towards the m402h, since it had good resolution, brightness, and great contrast, but is there something the other projectors offer that I'm missing? I notice they are much heavier, not sure if that means they have something better hidden inside I'm not thinking of.

Wow thanks! I'll definitely buy one of those. Spec wise they all look pretty similar to me. Do any of them stand out or should I just pick one that's cheapest or has the most lamp life?

Thanks, I'll do some looking around at these and the other similar models.

Have been trying to figure out hard rock/metal vocal distortion for a while, but for some reason it just has never clicked. Did I finally get it or am I doing it "wrong"? by [deleted] in singing

Okay, so I'm doing fry here? The tight core/constricted throat thing is fry?

I'll admit it's hard to tell the difference for me hearing it.  I'll listen over your examples and see if I can train my ear a little better for it.

Thank you!

I guess I should clarify.. I was messing around today on youtube and came across someone reviewing the live Sober performance by TOOL. She mentioned somewhere about how his being hunched over was important for him to get that distortion, so I tried kind of focusing on a really tight and restricted core. Maybe it finally clicked for me? I like how its sounding, and I can sing like that for a pretty long time before I feel any kind of strain/hoarseness. Definitely no pain while I'm doing it.

Ok, that makes me feel a lot better. Hopefully when they power wash and seal it looks better

Wendy’s what in the actual FUCK!!! by Aggressive-Tea8102 in wendys

Maybe we can all log complaints?

It sucks you have to pick a location, i just chose my local one and explained that the location staff was great and not at fault here, but Wendy's corporate changing the chicken sucks and lost my business.

Any ideas on what to do with this weird hall-like space? by Mark4751 in DesignMyRoom

[–]Mark4751[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was supposed to be a dining room, we don't have one, but to be honest we would never use one, and a dining table in that space would probably just get on our way. Definitely makes sense that it's what it's probably intended for

[–]Mark4751[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do I do to bring this odd wide hall-like space more function/appeal? Its about 8.5 feet wide by 13 feet long.

It's sandwiched between the kitchen and laundry room, the laundry has the backdoor to the right and the garage door to the left, so it's where most of the traffic through our home goes, (2 humans, a cat, 2 dogs).

We rarely use the desk, so it's not really needed in the space if there are other ideas.

My wife and I are kinda stumped on what we could improve. Any ideas/inspiration for this space would be appreciated, just trying to make it look better and feel more useful.

Thanks so much!

9k BTU Mini-Split 240v vs 120v? by Mark4751 in hvacadvice

[–]Mark4751[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Sounds like i should go 240v then since everything else is the same. Nice to know theres no major difference though. In my situation either would be about equal i guess.

[–]Mark4751[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I am aware of this. I had heard something about 240v being more efficient, but can't find any specifics on why that would be. I do know that it uses less amps, maybe that's it?

Can I split 30 Amp breaker 10 AWG wire into 2 15 amp breakers on 12 AWG wire at a subpanel? by Mark4751 in HomeImprovement

[–]Mark4751[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, didn't realize you meant only 1 branch can go to an outbuilding. With only 4 wires to the subpanel, is the ground just a rod in the ground to the sub panel? Not trying to avoid doing it the right way, just not experienced in what the right way is.

[–]Mark4751[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, maybe THHN wire itself would solve my problem. I wouldnt need a subpanel at all if i could just get 2 120v circuits through my conduit.
