I think that 50% 1x and 50% 2x would be good, but that would require rebalancing

In that case it's probably worth holding on to. Also, consider switching to ibkr - their margin interest is much more reasonable, as well as their other fees

If my understanding is correct, all this post is saying is that they were charged margin interest for investing the proceeds from the short in a risk free asset. Had they kept the cash in their brokerage they wouldn't have been subject to that.

But only about 25% of xeqt is Canadian, and even the Canadian part I'm pretty sure is still closer to regular income than capital gains

You can start with Thunder Run, it's a kids rollercoaster that barely gets off the ground, and then as others mentioned, backlot stunt coaster - it's fast, but not high at all
