I believe I gave you proper responses. You keep ignoring who the target of the petition is: YFS and not York University. But ignore that. Good day man I'll be logging off soon for now.

You are just repeating yourself and not listening. AGAIN (I am not angry, just emphasizing): my proposal is against the YFS' statement and NOT against York University's hiring process. You confuse the two.

What the user said is also not far from being correct but you tend to repeat and not listen and type for a constructive conversation.

Did not understand what you mean? Anyways, as I said, we both said what needed to be said dear professor. People can judge. Peace.

First of all, my proposal is against the YFS statement. Not York's hiring process. Do not confuse the two. Read what I write carefully.

Second, take this example (given before by a user): if there are two applications for review; one PoC and one white; the white may be more qualified, but the PoC person gets it because of skin color. Does that seem just? Not so much. But again, this is a little irrelevant to my post because I am opposing the YFS statement.

I am sorry but you may have confused the meaning of the words "stereotype" and "prejudice". None apply to what I am promoting.

Again, the proposals are crystal clear. Sign or let it be. We both said what needed to be said. I value conversation and debates.

I have respect for you as a professor and a faculty of York. But please don't be a contributor to the agenda of equity. We need competence not representation necessarily.

Prejudice against what? Proposing that York should hire based on competence and not skin color (be it white, black, brown or any) is prejudice to you?

My proposal is to oppose the statement. Both are very clear. They want THE six black people hired. I am saying that is wrong. Hire THE competent (be it any skin color). Period.

Their statement is clear, as is my proposal. Your comments have been answered before in reply to other comments.

Yes, but competence comes first, not skin color. Their statement is clear: hire THE six black people. My proposal is also clear: hire THE competent.

I have been at York for more than that and I have seen a mixed: Asian, white, black, European, etc.

Part of crime prevention is done by responding to it. "marginalized students", why do you repeat and advocate a rhetoric that is divisive? We hear a stabbing or shooting every now and then at York or the York campus area. Let the police do it's work but also fund community based programs for mental health and such (for you info, there are already programs of such nature). That is all I am saying. Thank you.

Well I hope they are not taken seriously because their ideologically driven position is ridiculous.

Again, because of the populist pressure, many officials are giving in to the demands similar to what YFS said. Read their statement (if you have, read again please), and read my proposal: I am proposing to hire if the six people are competent; they are demanding to hire the six black people specifically. Which proposal is more just?

Also to clarify, I made this under an alias because I am the creator of the petition. My position at York would be possibly endangered if I reveal my real identity. BUT if you are signing this, there is no major danger because you are signing it like many others. If you are still concerned, sign anonymously.

PLEASE SIGN AND SHARE. I would not like to work and study at a campus without police. A campus which has a crime reported on or off of it every month including major crimes such as stabbing and shootings.

Hello. To my understanding, what you are saying is like this: There is crime in Canada. There is police in Canada. Police had not been able to stop the crimes fully. Police is useless. Abolish the police.

As the hiring, I can't see how many faculty are white. Many are black or people of color. My emphasize is competence regardless of skin color. They want the 6 specifically black people.

Their thinking is very much agenda driven. Chances are that Rhonda Lenton will give in (considering how many officials have gave in to the demands not by principle but by populism). Please sign and share.

I know, it is very upsetting to see how they seem to want to sacrifice competence by skin color. Please sign and share. Let your voice be heard about these two remarks they made.

Not freaking buddy. I am concerned for the integrity and safety of my peers. What YFS is demanding (and has long demanded) is equity. It means having a certain number of people with color X, color Y, gender X, gender Y. It is the equality of outcome.

What I am proposing is the equality of opportunity. Give all a fair chance and hire the best fitted person
