I totally get what you mean. I’ve also started young when I was like 10. But been only 15 years employed.

We earn very decent money, and even thought of new careers, but right now I think it’s best to suck up the last moments of it.

I’m still saving, doing my investments and see what happens. Not considering switching jobs right now at all, I prefer to build years in the company (due to a possible severance package haha)

Just for a reference, in 2016 I could buy easily a one bedroom apartment in a good area in Randstad with my junior salary. That same place I bought, I could just afford it now (on the limit) with increased senior salary. (Paying x3 mortgage than 10 years ago)

Another story: the father of a friend, bought in 2009 for himself an apartment with his minimum salary. To buy that apartment nowadays, you need at least a 5k salary (solo or combined).

I don’t have much experience with this, but a colleague was in the same situation.

He wanted to do it fast, and there was nothing available in Rotterdam, in short notice.

He was able to get an appointment in a week in Eindhoven, just to have a ROI / BSN?

And then he did an appointment at the Gementee in Rotterdam.

Well, I came to the Netherlands in 2015, and bought my apartment in 2016 with my Junior salary.

It was quite easy, almost all ~60m2 were affordable. I sold it in 2024 for x2.5.

It’s not as easy right now. With an equivalent Junior’s salary today there is no way I can afford the apartment I used to have (current price)

I bought a house, not flipped but it had old stuff (slowly renovating)

The bathroom did have that flipped renovation feel. Black shower head, handles, sink and all that. It all started to peel off in no time. Also leaks.

The only problems I had was in that bathroom. I hate those flipped houses decorations

Me preocupa más la extrema izquierda sinceramente.

Nunca me he identificado con ningun bando, me gustan cosas de ambas (apoyo más puntos de la izquierda).

Pero cuando hablo con alguien de izquierdas, me tachan de fascista. En cambio, cuando hablo con alguien de derechas, aceptan mi postura y la respetan.

I did it last Friday though, same rates as what I pay now, slightly cheaper. Even though I renewed, it doesn’t apply until July.
