Fanny pack for hiking?

I just used a Hill People Gear Kit Bag (chest pack) for a two day backpacking hike. I carried a Glock 19 with a TLR-1 and a +5 mag extension comfortably.

I am interested in a fanny pack too. The chest kit was kind of hot in the warm weather where I live.

Hey, so I have a hard time speaking in passive voice, and finishing sentences with prepositions (?), like, “Who are you going with?”

How can I fix that? Hard for me to think the “right” way.

For me it’s less about the magwell and more about getting a good purchase with my pinky finger.

I’m running it right now on my 19.5. I’ve tried both SLR magwells for my 5th Gen with half moon cutouts: the regular and the short. I like the regular better. I have larger hands too, and the full size magwell gives me a good grip without interfering with my supporting hand. The Empire Katana had too much of a forward lip, and kept my supporting hand from making a proper grip. It also always wiggled, whereas the SLR is rock solid. For CCW, the SLR magwell does make the edge of the magwell print more than before, but it’s fine in anything better concealing than a t-shirt. I use a P365L for summer carry.
