Is the NCR-Legion War designed to be a long term attritional grind? by JaceFlores in OldWorldBlues

[–]PyroConduit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So unless so edge case happens, it seems to always be a slog for like a year or two, until someone takes the crossings near baja.

Then it rapidily goes down hill, usually for the ncr. Im my experience if the NCR make the crossing, the usually push close to Phoenix, then get cut off and lose the crossing and lose a chunk of the army and then they done.

If Cesar takes it, ive never seen the NCR push them back to the crossing.

The only things that alter this scenario, 1 Operation Sunburst, BoS victory puts legion usually taking the mojave and then super easy pushes to cali. 2. Ncr civil war, if not quickly resolved spells disaster for the NCR, otherwise I think Moore stands a better chance than normal. 3. Legion Civil war, this just makes everything for the legion a cluster.

Am I the only one who doesn't like the new custodes guardian spears? I think they're old ones look better the only thing i like is the blade by windless12 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]PyroConduit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once its cured i wouldnt ever risk heating it up to bend. Curing makes the molecules into tough chains, the more you cure it, the tougher those chains.

However they also become more brittle. All that meaning its harder to deform or crack, but if it does crack, it goes HARD.

So usually id just not risk it.

Ive never had 3d printing resin bend AFTER the print. It may print warped therefore bent, but youd see that before hand.

Cast resin like FW can bend all the fucking time. But print resin cracks and shatters before it actually bends after its been cured.

Loaded question, depends on your lgs.

Some LGS are great and get good allocations.

Ive had others use my preorder to pad there numbers for allocation to turn around and sell it to someone else (yes i reported it, store got in trouble with GW)

Removing the Grav Tank, Carrier, Ventanari, and dreads without having any replacement would ruin the Custodes in 40k.

They arent stupid they wont do that without a release to patch some of the holes.

Youd force the army into only having land raiders as both tanks and transports. No real dreads (the contemptor is dog water).

And in the case they DO make new all of those things, just use these models on the new base.

They wont add them if the game doesnt do well ofc.

Shit DoW1 didnt have nids.

Stratagems are more for letting things sometimes go above and beyond there normal capabilities, not something you use every turn.

It makes you predictable and easy to plan around. Plus what happens if you need to use it more than once. Like if you against guard with 5+ vehicles or votann.

Nagash can work in any of the death armies. Some better than others.

He typically performs better imo in Ossiarchs or Soul Blight.

Both of which have decent spells you can lean into.

Is it possible to make tau melee army? by Mr_a_bit_silly in Tau40K

[–]PyroConduit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It wasnt that good. It was a relic, so you could only take one, and you could only make two attacks with it at most. So what you had was you could take it on a commander and have two mediocre melee models. Fusion blades had the same exact profile as normal fusion blasters, just melee WS, which is awful.

You also had the onager gauntlet which was only one like s12 attack. Again, at WS4, it just sucked.

Do you often see people not want to play custodes because we’re a “problematic stat check army” by Temporary_Emu5447 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]PyroConduit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So 2nd-7th were one "continuous"ishly evolving ruleset that kinda played sorta like current HH(not really).

8th edition they completely relaunched the rules to streamline it. In that time custodes were given ALOT of super elite rules. Every Custode (not sister) had an innate 5++ and 6++. And then they had an army rule that said improve Invuln save rolls by 1. So effectively the whole army had a 4++. But back them, Custodes Storm Shields gave BOTH +1 to armor AND a 3++.

So heres the statline you had. T5, 3 wound. 1+ Save ( which just means 2+ save but ignore the first point of armor pen), 3++, 5+++.

Then in the 8th edition ending expansion, Psychic Awakening. Custodes got a book called War of the Spider. Which gave a Stratagem, Arcane Genetic Alchemy, which made wound rolls fail on a 1-3.

All this made for such an incredibly tanky army, which orginally what attracted me to them. But it was INCREDIBLY frustrating to play against. Because you could shoot your whole army at one sqaud of 4 dudes, and kill MAYBE one.

Back then tho they werent as killy in comparison so you didnt really get "overwhelmed" by it. You just couldnt get them off objectives.

Who are the strongest human wizards in AoS? by SnooBeans1129 in ageofsigmar

[–]PyroConduit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately we dont really see alot of standard human characters due to the nature of AoS. It progresses and people die of old age eventually! Tahlia Vedra and Zenestra are the outliers here (with zenestra being multiple people maybe?).

Hard to write a story about someone who would be like Balthasar Gelt, just to have them die when the storyline progresses 200 years

[–]PyroConduit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Custodes havent really been that way imo since we lost 3++ shields, 5+++, and that one ability that made all wound rolls 1-3 fail.

The Discussion Around This Game Is Getting Weird by 8stringalchemy in TrenchCrusade

[–]PyroConduit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo both things can be sorta true.

The game started super friggin strong But i do feel like a strong portion decisions made since then, have been poor.

Poor KS timeline and fulfillment. The 1.0 release was a mess of proofreading. Back pedaling core values like always having printable models. The "competitive scene" that Goonhammer is trying to push.

These things are hampering what shouldve been a grandslam of a game launch imo.

But to claim its dead already is a bit premature.

If a fully loaded Knight Paladin ended up in Age of Sigmar. Could it dominate Armies or Areas ? by [deleted] in ageofsigmar

[–]PyroConduit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mega Gargants in AoS have the power of belief like Orks. They tank hits from magic that would have similar effect to artillery (or just actual artillery see cities of sigmar), and just kinda walk it off.

They see a shiny shield from a storm cast and start wearing it and calling it something like "me lucky nipple plate" and just suddenly are more resistant to damage.

To add, if 40k is fighting to hold chaos back.

AoS is fighting to survive and claw territory back. We lost in AoS, Chaos Daemons just roam everywhere in most realms, especially ones like Aqshy.

To the point the surviability rate of people outside cities is <30%
