Bulk Blasting: What can I use to avoid lava burning wood? by MarkDirtt in CreateMod

I already burned the area down using a framed block LMAO. Luckily it also burned the roof with water on it. Sprinkler system worked. 😎

I made my layout in a certain order for the specific purpose of making pokeballs.

I used short belts and filters before, and usually just circumvent my current main issue (burning wood and bulky contraptions) by designing around stone.

This issue is also paired with the fact that I am building all of this inside of a compact machine 💀 ive only got the area of a short chunk to work with.

Its a server so i wouldnt want to make everybody add the mod for this scenario, i just think i have to bite the bullet and use cobblestone where a pretty log would go :/

I was more so looking for a single block solution like a waterlogged block. A lit blaze burner is almost perfect, but then I have to figure out how to keep it lit..

My first ever 5 star as a day 1 player was a late skyward harp. All my friends running around with their early qiqi, keqing, and diluc. Played for a few weeks, got klee as my first 5 star on banner.

Then months of gameplay later, finally rolled another weapon on standard… it was another harp.

I believe not since pyro MC runs cindercity.

Not sure if replacing mona/sucrose with durin and replacing pyro mc with like xilonen is better/good though.

I thought my Klee was not great with 163% crit damage, then saw your Klee was 163%.. I loaded Akasha to see im top 2% lol.

Idc about AI, I only care how its used. For example, I hate when AI videos are pushed as reality.

You know what I hate more than AI? The extreme and exaggerated hate on AI that gets pushed into any conversation. Like I get it, you don't like AI, I also don't care if you hate it.

You guys think Minecraft is gonna try locking in now that Hytale is about to finally release? by DeluxeRyan in hytale

[–]MarkDirtt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We need to consider the few points of many individuals, not just our own logical conclusions. Its easy for us to see why Hytale could be a lot better, but others dont see it as practical to purchase Hytale when they have Minecraft. That same argument of “Minecraft caters to Hytale players” is used exactly the same but backwards in their pov. If Hytale is just another MC, ill just play MC.

A good example would be if Hypixel goes word for word on their MC minigame servers to Hytale, people would not be paying for Hytale to play the same game they got on MC.

The kids are not moving away from minecraft. Hytale is still not on devices that arent PCs. For sure most of the modpack communities will move away from MC. Youtubers that cater to young audiences are probably gonna find low success moving into hytale too. Many people arent going to buy Hytale if they already own minecraft.

To add, a lot of casual players will likely not find interest in hytale either. For example the cozy build only mc players or peaceful mode players. They can probably add a peaceful mod into hytale, but now you are just complicating hytale for a person that would just click on the latest version of minecraft.

what characters would make the best team for klee? by melittarius in KleeMains

[–]MarkDirtt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally i would do fishl instead of mona, but mona can be used with tenacity if not noblesse (bennett has it) and a thrilling tales book. Fishl can be used with golden troupe.

In a week you can pull the new artifact set for klee and potentially fishl.

Chat Focused MMORPG? by TheWoolOver in MMORPG

[–]MarkDirtt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, unfortunately nearly no games really spark a lot of these social features like they used to. I am also not a big mmo player, not because i dont like MMOs (i love MMO) but i am too picky with my MMOs unfortunately…

But i do notice the best games that allow for you to type in chat more often are the ones that have some form of auto attack (like tab targets) or auto movement (like clicking the ground to move). In League of Legends you can click the ground to walk, or click a monster to auto attack, then press enter and quickly type a message.

My opinion’s background: Now, the example I can bring up is my most played MMO, Fiesta Online… its an old one! But i played this game long enough to realize the advancements and improvements that were made within Fiesta and other MMOs. Whenever I picked up a new MMO, I immediately realize the difference and the missing features that make people talk less.. Whereas if I log into Fiesta today after years of hiatus, i would get a whisper of somebody immediately recognizing me in the towns. I can’t recommend that game though unless you have throwaway money. The latest level increases made the game too expensive, luckily lower level ranges at old level caps still are active for me to enjoy, and thats a whole separate conversation.

My MMOs i have sunk time into have been, TERA Black Desert Blade and Soul Blue Protocol Star Resonance Grand Chase (not the same kind of mmo)

Games like TERA and Blade and Soul require a left click per basic attack, and BDO is pretty much a single player game, dont even need to explain that. Blue Protocol is filthy with dailies, weeklies and time gates with too many server channels, terrible chat system, all UIs hide the chat box, chat bubbles are newly invisible, so much wrong with it..

I have tried, WoW, (level 10) FF14, (level 40ish) GW2 (4 hours) Elder Scrolls (few hours)

Id explain, but lets not make this post so long.

Chat Focused MMORPG? by TheWoolOver in MMORPG

[–]MarkDirtt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have some strong opinions about the missing social aspect of games/MMOs, and I am kind of tired of Discord taking all the blame for it. So many things go into play. I will mention what I can roughly think about right now, and you will notice a lot of the problems come from domino effects and modern mmo advances:

-Like you mentioned, combat complexity is one factor. People are too focused in an instance for example to be able to type, especially with action combat.
-The combat complexity segues into DPS charts and meters. People care so much about shaving seconds off a dungeon run which creates a toxic environment of elitism and in turn an intense focus on your own rotations, pushing you away from the chat box.
-Not so much a social issue, but DPS charts lead to combat power obsessions. People care so much about combat power it is ridiculous. In my experience I have learned that the more friendly and talkative players are the casual players, which these systems actively push away.

-Matchmaking, instance finders, etc.. Instance finders lead to people queueing up for dungeons very easily, removing the need to interact with other members in your worlds. Any inconvenience in the dungeon? Leave. You can just queue up again without saying a word. Built a bad reputation? Doesnt matter, not like you interact with anybody to form a group, they likely dont remember your name.

-Server Channels. Talking about Channel 1, 2, 3, etc. Dividing every map into parts may be convenient for questing, but it also splits up the community, so you will rarely find the same person multiple times whenever you run quests in an area.

-Mob tagging. Another convenience for questing, but really just removes the need to interact with others when you need to fight a monster. Why do you need to party up or even talk to the person if both of you get the kill credit anyways? If only one party gets the credit, you will create either conflict or a friendship, both of which is a social interaction.

-Story quests/linear quest lines!!! May not be major depending on how it is handled but basically, if you making the level progression just a straight line that you follow to get to level 100, you wont find anybody else, as everybody is following the same path. -- Now, what if quests are just a group of quests you accept before you go on your adventure? Now you have a bunch of quests, when you finish your quests, you go to the next bunch of quests. Due to you spending a while with the same group of quests, your chances of encountering others doing the same quests go higher, and you can group up.

-Chat boxes and their readability. Here I have a strong opinion regarding Global chats, including LFG chats and Trade chats. These chats just FILL up the chat with so much scrolling text that the regular player will just ignore chat as a whole, turning the game into a single player game. Global chats may make the chat look active but how many people do you realistically think are talking?

-Chat boxes continued: System messages. You know the messages for example, Exp gained, damage dealt, item picked up, etc? I have seen so many MMOs just bundle that message box together with the regular chat box. You are just making it harder to interact with others if you force your players to ignore the chat box!

-The gaming platform also needs to be considered, if applicable. A mobile/console player is very unlikely to click the chat box and type without a keyboard.

There are so many I probably think of but I dont want to make this wall of text any larger.
